While we are on the subject of injuries and the TC faithful are available. I was curious if Bird wound up anywhere? I know he's lucky just to be alive, but hadn't heard much since late last year. Can you shed any light?

Go back and read some posts, many fans give love to those that win-myself included. Running thier mouths??-don't be the pot and the kettle, you do plenty of that on your own-many fans do. You act as though HC has only been recently playing and many times losing to local "smaller" teams. Let's not make this into something that it isn't. YOU keep bringing up ONE fans quote...should I just use one fan from another teams quote and base EVERY bit of my propaganda on that??? That is pigeon holeing a team into something it isn't (many of the fans respect local rivalries, that's what makes this fun-being able to brag at the factories or local shops for year!). I am sure you are referring to "THEY" as the fans??? I feel certain, as with any program, that the HC team sets much loftier goals (I would certainly hope anyway). Let's not forget that in the old class HC was a small 2A team and in the new class they are just one or two males from being 2A again. My hole point was that sometimes scores are not avoidable nor indicative of how a game was played-and that has nothing to do with any other score at anytime (HC has been on the bad side of a score MANY times and you won't see me complain about it). Young kids and back ups deserve the chance to play and play hard, I can't imagine a coach saying "when you get to the goal line, fall down."

 

I congratulate Central, they are a GREAT football team, there is a reason they are the defending champ. Good luck Yellowjackets! Good luck to all the teams left in the championship run. No sour grapes here. :thumb:

 

Yes, you usually go back and congratulate your opponents. I apologize if I gave the impression that all HC fans do the same thing. Some Henry fans are wonderful and informative, but all some do is spew "domination" talk and run and hide in the threads when HC loses. It's not just one fan, either.

 

Unfortunately, all fans reflect on a program. I've discussed situations with you that occurred this year and last year about some HC fans approaching our coaches before/after games running their mouths. I know we have fans that act, frankly, like idiots, too. They all affect how teams are viewed.

You are correct, SOME fans are overzealous, however I don't judge a team by the worth of their fans because both sides of the spectrum are often represented (is that how you want your team viewed?). I have encountered all kinds of fans from MANY schools including Trimble County, while I have heard fans cuss at kids from opposing teams I don't hold it against the team itself, afterall that is not a fair indication of how a team handles itself nor what they are taught-atleast by the coaches. I have even whitnessed a parent at a JV game vocally and seriously threaten to beat up their own coach...that however doesn't mean anything to that team. Sometimes we must overcome our own fans (and coaches must often overcome what their kids hear at home), even those with enough of an account balance to get a BGP account! :thumb:

Sometimes sportsmanship doesn't always carry over, even when just having fun on a chat board...that is the sad part.
