November 14, 200817 yr I have done tons of highlight videos for various sports teams (football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, etc) and like to use fresh music each year. I am looking for song ideas for a football highlight video. I have some, but need some more ideas for songs that would work well. They can be old songs or new songs, ... any good song ideas, upbeat and such, would be greatly appreciated! Any help would be greatly appreciated! :thumb:
November 14, 200817 yr Author I know one song that Jim Schue won't be recommending....LOL. I was waiting on his response first "Whatever you do, please don't use that god awful song Thunderstruck".
November 14, 200817 yr Ha use Thunder Struck just for spite. Hmmm also even though I don't like him Kanye West's song Stronger, just the chorus, is pretty solid.
November 14, 200817 yr "Why Can't We Be Friends" for the rivalry highlights. I'm going to go for variety here: "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult "Thug Love" by Tupac and Bone Thugs 'N Harmony. "Song 2" by Blur (as much as I hate to use cliches) "Everything Zen" by Bush ...more to come.
November 15, 200817 yr Look at Breaking Benjamin. They have a lot of music with GREAT breakdowns. Breakdowns are key in Highlight videos and montages.
November 15, 200817 yr Bodies by Drowning Pool Ugh, definitely not! That song is almost as bad and almost as overplayed as "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed. :creepy:
November 15, 200817 yr Hear me out on this one. I've heard it used in a few different highlight videos and I've always been impressed. Requiem For A Dream - Clint Mansell Ignore the whales in this video and just listen to the music:lol:. It works great for football highlights because it starts out slow and mellow and builds tempo and intensity. I've seen a few highlight videos that used this song. The best one was a football highlight video that showed some of the teams plays and then as the music built and really got intense they would should a huge hit on defense. You'll know what I'm trying to describe if you listen to the entire song. Watching whales with that music in the background is cracking me up  If your wanting a song with a little more hip hop, here's a studio remix someone did. I believe Lil' John also used something like this in one of his songs.
November 15, 200817 yr "Readyfuels" - Anberlin "What it is to burn" - Finch "94 Hours" - As I Lay Dying "Pyramid" - Wolfmother "Woman" - Wolfmother "Hysteria" - Muse "Molly's Chambers" - Kings of Leon "Four Kicks" - Kings of Leon "Welcome Home" - Coheed and Cambria "Ten Speed (Of God's Blood and Burial)" - Coheed and Cambria

November 15, 200817 yr I believe the song you are referring to is called "Lux Aeterna" (Full Orchestral Remix) by Clint Mansell. I've always been confused about the actual name of the song. I know it's by Clint Mansell. You can download the song as "Requiem For A Dream" but you're right, "Lux Aeterna" sounds the same :thumb:
