Don't you just love getting easy assignments?

So I go into my Newswriting I class today not knowing what the professor is going to have us work on for this week.

Well to my great surprise, I see stuff from the overhead projector that has information on the schedule of high school football games that involve northern Kentucky schools.

To this, everyone sees my eyes get HUGE! LOL. I'm thinking I've got an easy A.

Well for the class period, we had to choose which game we wanted to "cover" and find information on both teams but mainly the northern Kentucky school.

I was given the Trimble County/Beechwood game and didn't get much information since I was asked to help a bunch of my classmates find this or that. Most of them aren't into sports so they didn't know where to look.

I'm about toi go get the information on the TC/B game and post it to this blog we've got to set up. On Thursday during class, we're going to be writing the article. The kicker to this whole thing is that if our article is good enough, one person is potentially going to have it published online at kypost.com

LOL. You should have seen the excitement on my face when I saw the assignment. I have been like a kid in a candy store. LOL.

So after saying all of that, I wonder if you've had one of those assignments that everyone in the class knew it would be so easy for you to do that they came to you for help instead of the professor?

Who's teaching the class? That sounds like a George Rorrer-type of assignment. I rather enjoyed it in his class. :D

My professor is Michele Day.

Next week we're doing obituaries. LOL. The only reason why I think its funny that we're doing obits next weeks is cause I heard someone today say can you just kill me now instead of making me write about football. LOL.

She must be pretty new. Does Rorrer still teach classes? You'd love him. Many, many great stories.

I don't know that name. She must have took over for him.

I think she used to be an editor for one of the sections of the paper at the Kentucky Post before she started teaching.

George was a sportswriter for the Enquirer back in the day. Used to be a beat writer covering the Reds. He had been officially semi-retired from the news biz for at least a decade or so when I had him for a class (and that was 7-8 years ago). He's probably completely retired from teaching by now; he only did about 1-2 classes per semester.

Oh man... You're lucky. Michele never had us write about football. Although the obit assignment was pretty humorous. She found it odd that I wrote that I was married to Oprah.

Statman, you might want to check out the A-11 highlight thread. You'll see some Trimble County clips, as well as links to today's CJ article on Trimble. Trimble Co has also been mentioned in the New York Time and the San Fransicso Gate, concerning their A-11 offense.

Easy assignments equal bad grades for lazy students...and A's for MJ, lol.

I read the article in the CJ....This could really help his assignment...great reading too.:thumb:

Stateman...let us know how your article comes out...also any humorous stories of others in your class would be appreciated...:D

Can't imagine anyone not liking sports

Next week we're doing obituaries.

I have a rough draft of a research paper due in four hours. I'm ready to kill someone...
