I am a fan of the County, but they will have to play an absolutely perfect football game to even stay within 3 touchdowns. St. X "D" should be able to put on a clinic on how to defend the veer.

 

If Brooks fumbles more than 1 time, St. X 63 Nelson County 7. If Brooks fumbles once or less, St. X 42 Nelson County 17.

 

I looked at this again and it came off as negative. What I meant to imply was that as goes their fullback, so goes Nelson County. He is an excellent player and just a sophomore. Question will be whether Jordan Keene has healed from last week or not.

You really do follow the program well...nice call on Anthony Boggs...what an athlete! But they had quite a few excellent players that year and were destined to win the championship...I still feel bad for the Dunbar kicker who missed the extra point in overtime to give NC the win!

 

As for the rain, if Saint X grinds it out...winning the game will still be a tall order.

 

I think if Nelson county can not turn the ball over at all, excel in the special teams, get a few breaks from the football Gods and cause X to make some mental errors (turnovers, penalties, etc)...the score will be X 28 NC 14. X has too much firepower all around.

 

And on a good day, I do firmly believe that a (healthy) X JV would be a competitive game with NC.

 

I just hope it doesn't rain...cold and rain is no fun for the fans...but the turf does make the game much more stable...therefore, just the slick ball will be an issue. Cutting on that stuff in the rain is just like if it were dry. That is why, IMO if X or T have to play a game against a quality team on a sloppy natural grass field...the game will be much closer than anticipated...see the Oldham county versus Saint X game for reference...and it stopped raining before the game even started.

X is not a passing team, rain or shine nobody has stopped that running game this year; X big in this game.

In a down pour the first play from scrimmage there is a fumble and the ball gets lost in a giant mud puddle both teams spend 4 quarters searching the field for the ball along with the refs and as time expires a NC player sees something sticking up like a shark fin. It is the ball and he picks it up and slowly walks around with nobody noticing he has the ball and he walks into the endzone and NC wins this one 6-0. LOL Thought everyone could use a little humor before the games start tonight.

 

Doesn't X have turf anyway? LOL Well X over everybody by 40+ until they play T and then they may have a close game.

I have to agree with you Centre Tigers. Just too much firepower for the cards. What a tough way to start the playoffs. Good luck to the cards and i hope they play the game of their lives. :ylsuper:
