I do not understand the rights of the home team here. I was amazed this past Friday night that as our seniors and their parents were announced, the opposing team did not stop their practice on the field. Balls were being kicked thrown whatever into the area where the seniors and their parents were walking/standing. I know that opposing team had to travel a couple of hours to our facility, but out of respect and common courtesy I would have thought they could have taken 10 minutes off the field to let the seniors have their moment. Any thoughts?

I didn't notice what Lloyd was doing during ours, as I was to peeved at our own announcer for not being able to pronounce my son's name correct.

Teams have to get ready for the game, especially the away team. I dont no if I would have removed the team from the field but i would have kept the warm up away from the senior night festivities.

We had the senior night honors before the warmup time ever started. I don't even know if the opposing team was there yet or not.

From what I've seen the past few years of watching HS football, it appears that teams are restricted to half the field for warming up. If that is the case then home team has half the field to carry out festivities. I have never seen an issue with this home or away.

I understand that both teams split the field for warm ups, but this program for the seniors took place directly before the national athem would have been played. Just like in volleyball, my daughter's teams did not practice on the other side of the court during the senior night festivities, they warmed up prior too. Just felt that this was a little disrespectful.

There is a lot of planning and necessary coordination involved for Senior Night - a couple of questions though, were additional props used on the field, did the players and parents walk across the field, instead using the home side field area? If the introductions were elaborate ( I have seem some) - was the visiting coach forwarned? Give the visiting coach the benefit of the doubt unless there is some history there - they are concentrating on the game and usually not watching what is going on on the perimeter of the field. Sometime a little communication will eliminate the problems.

With the way some teams run scores up on their opponents? I think some coaches and players just don't care. In this day and age are you really suprised by some people's actions?

At Greenup County we played Ashland for senior night and we used most of the field and I didn't notice anything disrespecful from the team or the coaches, we used props(hoops) all lined up on 50 yard line.

I know for most schools' senior days they either wait for the team to go in to the locker room to start or have it on the track as to not interfere with what's going on, on the field. I was at the CCH-St X game saturday and St X didn't go past their 25 while the seniors were being announced and their players stood on the hashes facing eachother rather than with their backs to the CCH side. Not sure if that is something they reguarly do for warm ups or not, but I felt like it showed class by staying that far away from midfield while the announcements were being made.
