I like the differences of opinions and that is what makes this site interesting, if I could add one more thing on the game, when NT ran the 14 yard touchdown he seemed pretty healthy to me. All in all great game and I wish both teams luck in there quest for state titles.

His straight ahead speed looked fine. I don't believe that he cut as well as I've seen in the past. Turf toe is nasty. Doesn't matter, NewCath was missing starters as well. Both teams played hard, and now both are playing for much bigger things.

I didn't have a dog in the fight, but was at the game. NCC was absolutely dominant on both sides of the ball. It was also absolutely clear that NT was hurting when he tried to plant-n-cut...

Bred's fans have every right to boast; however, with such a "dominant" performance against a somewhat lackadaisical performance from BW...shouldn't there perhaps be a "little bit" of concern that it took a very fortunate punt return followed quickly by a fumble return...to actually seal the game? Oh well, perhaps it's just me.

Good luck to all the NKY teams...bring'em home.

Hmmmmm....Beechwood had 335 yards offense to NCC 245 yards offense. Take away the NCC 10 yard pass that turned into a 65 yard TD pass down the sideline on a missed tackle and NCC had 180 yards offense. Mark Kelley carried 16 times for 41 yards. Beechwood will take those stats and be very proud every time they play NCC. NCC not only did not "absolutely dominate both sides of the ball", they didn't even come close to winning the yardage battle. The NCC offense had one TD drive in the game. They got stoned two times on goal line stands by Beechwood. All the other NCC points came off turnovers and big plays on special teams. Nope, NCC did not dominate by any measure. NCC played an error free game, put up the most points and that is the only thing that counts. Give NCC credit for a good win and especially Mark Kelley's punt returns for being the difference in the game. But I have no doubt Beechwood would love to go back out on the field against them tonight and see what happens.

WOW! Voice of Reason isn't punt returns, fumbles part of the game and keep in mind that NCC had a touchdown called back, to comment on the long reception what about the 4th down that the QB for Beechwood ran for a touchdown so it lot of things can be said the bottom line is the bette team won. Beechwood has a great team and should and I hope win state, we need to keep the state championchips in NKY.

NCC won for one reason, they play a much tougher schedule. They were much more battle tested.

So they were not the better team just battle tested?

Do you know that throughout the course of the early 90's during Beechwood's Reign of Terror, there were at least four games where they had a punt return and/or defensive touchdown to beat NewCath? I remember '93 in the playoffs when Hergott scored on a long touchdown run on what was a busted play. One year earlier NewCath fumbled 3 times inside of the five yard line on the way into the end zone. Shooting yourself in the foot is part of football. The overall yardage was deceptive as NewCath had pretty good field position all night. Also, they didn't get "stoned" on the goal line stand at the end of the half, they scored a TD and it was waived off for a penalty. On the ensuing third down, I don't know what was called but it looked like NewCath was trying to set up a field goal. Both sides need to get a little perspective here. This wasn't pure domination on either side. Both teams had significant injuries. It was a good game b/n two class programs.

O trust me, I bleieve NCC would love to go back on the field with Beechwood again too. They would probably beat them worse. You cant take away plays and such from the game and say "if that didnt happen then..." because that is apart of the game. You wouldnt have to "take those plays away" if Beechwood was doing there job. So maybe NCC didnt win the yardage battle, but they won the game and that is all that matters. Beechwood is not a bad team by any means, but look what happends to Beechwood when they play a good team.
