November 6, 200817 yr I have a question...I believe that I am correct in saying that he is behind on his taxes...UNDER THE BUSH TAX PLAN, NOT THE OBAMA TAX PLAN. Doesn't this just come off as someone that just doesn't want to pay any taxes? I think he was late on his taxes one year. I don't know why he is relevant anymore either. Actually, I thought it was interesting (the only interesting thing he said IMHO) was when Colmes told him "You will get more in your pocket with the Obama plan than the McCain plan" and he responded "That goes against my principles. Taking money from somebody else who worked hard and putting it in my pocket is like stealing." I also think if you are going on national TV you should at least wear a button up shirt of some kind and not a t-shirt. I am curious why we found out more about this guy then we did about Obama during this campaign?
November 6, 200817 yr I said this in another thread but feel I need to repeat it. Joe was in his own front yard with his son when Obama was walking around campaigning in Joe's neighborhood. Joe asked Obama a question and Obama fouls up so bad that the media and Obama fanboys have to attack Joe. They completely ignore the fact that Obama wants to spread the wealth (call what you want, I call it socialism). Now explain to me why it matters that Joe is behind on his taxes? What does that have to do with Obama's answer?

November 6, 200817 yr What's refreshing about it? This guy hasn't taken care of his business. Find me a citizen who did exactly what they were supposed to do, and then got pooped on by their company and/or government. Then I will listen. I'm not listening to something as corny as Joe "the Plummer." Is it the 1920's? Was Grantland Rice conducting the interview? Nobody is perfect, even me. I still maintain that hearing the concerns of the common man (or woman) on nationwide television is a refreshing change from politicians telling what we should or shouldn't think.

Doesn't this just come off as someone that just doesn't want to pay any taxes? What would lead you to assume that? If you've ever been late paying a bill, was it because you just didn't want to pay the bill? Does this link mean that Obama comes off as if he just doesn't want to pay his bills? http://www.wthr.com/global/story.asp?s=9299280

I think, though, the connection is that the tax plan questions presented to Obama are "Joe's" claim to fame. It is possible that he is making tax payments and I have jumped to conclusions. :thumb:
November 6, 200817 yr If Joe had been an ax murderer awaiting trial his question would have been relevant. Even more relevant to the election was Obama's spreading the wealth response. Smearing, auditing, and harrassing critics will become common once Obama takes office. The Obama machine was just warming up during the campaign. Obama's choice of Clinton hatchet man Emanuel fits right in with that model.

It seems a little bit off to complain about taxes when you haven't been paying yours. Kind of like sneaking into the movies and then complaining to the theater manager about the price of popcorn. Pay your taxes, Joe (like 99% of the rest of us), THEN complain. Furthermore, while I agree that this man's private records should not have been accessed in Ohio (I have seen no evidence that the query was connected in any way to the Obama campaign, BTW), Joe Wurzelbacher's actions haven't exactly been those of someone who wants to be left alone. He made a campaign appearance with Sarah Palin last week. And it was McCain's campaign, not Obama's, that kept Mr. Wurzelbacher in the news by mentioning "Joe the Plumber" numerous times during the last debate and on numerous occasions during subsequent campaign stops.
November 6, 200817 yr Should be called Joe the Plumber's helper . If he hasn't a license he isn't a Plumber . Just a wannabe !!

How do you know he hasn't been paying his? He is behind $1,200. Maybe he paid $5000? My guess is he's paid a lot more in taxes than many people who complain about the rich not paying their fair share. Should they be silenced because they've paid little or no taxes? As to his wanting to be left alone. I may have missed it but I've never seen where he said anything except about the invasion of his privacy. I've seen where he said he's enjoying the attention and I certainly don't blame him for that.

In Ohio I believe you only need one person with a license to act as a master plumber and to coordinate the work. Doesn't mean the others are not plumbers though.
