Wow. Hard to imagine that Rowan isn't the hands down favorite in the 16th. I'd say they wear the bullseye.

I guess since Ashland, Russell, Raceland, and Elliott Co. all have 2 players in the top 10 (or should have according to some), they should probably be expected to win the regional championship?? And for what its worth, Jennifer Brockman was unguardable in the regional championship when she decided to go to the basket, and is probably the best on the ball defender in the 16th.

 

 

To annoint Rowan as the hands-down fav of the 16th might be jumping the gun a bit. Remember that many of these Panoramas, like many pre-season scrimmages are fools gold. Don't get me wrong, I agree that Rowan should be number 1 until someone dethrones them, but I disagree that all other teams are a DISTANT second. I believe that both East and Ashland will give Rowan all that they can handle. Don't forget that Ashland only lost to Rowan by 2 in the regional final (after leading for 3 quarters) and returns 4 starters.

What about the teams that played at the elementary school? Any info on those games?

Rowan Co. lost a lot to graduation and Ashland lost the 16th Region POY. Both will be in the upper tier along with East, Elliott Co. and Raceland as well as a sleeper team or two that could surprise i.e. Lewis Co. or a Morgan Co. Should be a great year in the 16th for girls basketball.

No one else really in mind, Spurlock was Rowan's main point last year. Just not sure if Brockman with her tempermrnt can step in and fill Spurlock's shoes. Of course I could be wrong-only time will tell.

Aha! I see where the confusion lies. Brockman played the point all year.. Spurlock went to the point if there was foul trouble. Don't really understand the whole "temperament" comment though....Anyway, nice chatting with ya!
