I agree with you on that one, Skunk. I kept rooting Buzzy, Brickler, Porter etc on and it was hard to see my son have to go up against them when they used to play on the same team.

Uhhhhhh no I didnt. Just because NewCath has dominated the series doesnt mean its not one of the best rivalries. These kids all know each other and most played peewee together.

Rivalries mean each team could win, doesn't look like this has been a rivalrie in a long time.

What a great game both teams played extremly hard and it could have gone either way, NewCath finds a way to win the close ones where the Camels have trouble in that department and when they get over that hump they will be a contender every year in 6A.

Mark Kelly had a great game, in my mind he is the best all around running back in NKY, he is a geat runner with very good balance and vision, he is also a great blocker. In the last 3 weeks I believe he has run for 307, 150 and 179 yards with a total of 9TDS. He does a lot of things that doesn't go into the stat books, also keep in mind he is the starting outside linebacker.

Keep in mind his offensive line too!!!!!!

I agree a very good hard nosed runner, but I would still take Simpson over him in all of NKY.

When Simpson played Newcath earlier in the season he didn't do anything until the very end of the game.

The past two games have been the kind of games that rivalries are built on. Trust me on this. I've seen them both.:thumb:

So how does that compare the two backs? If Kelly played against Newcath, he probably wouldn't do anything, or if Simpson played against Simon Kenton's D, he would run wild. The comparison's have to be made against like opponents, not when they played each other.

Your right his line does a very good job of opening up holes for him, as for Simpson he is a very good runner, when I look at a running back I look at his pass blocking and his run blocking, I know when Kues runs it Kelly is the lead blocker on a lot of the carries. Not sure what Simpson did against Conner but according to the paper a few weeks ago Kelly ran for 307 yards against Conner and 4 scores. Simpson will be the best back in NKY next year but in my opinion he isn't the best this year.

I had completely forgotten about Quainoo it's tough to distinguish who the best running back is because you have different cases. Quainoo gets around 25 to 30 carries a game and puts up big numbers, while Simspson gets around 15 carries a game and puts up big numbers. The questions are would Simpson be able to be as affective running the ball twice as much as he already does, and would Quainno be able to get his numbers in half his normal carries? These comparisons can be made and that's just one example so it's hard to say who the best really is.:thumb:
