Xavier- They are a great A-10 team, but IMO they are just that. Derrick Brown will be tough, as will Anderson and Raymond, but I dont see them doing much of anything outside of the A-10. With them losing Lavender and Duncan, they won't get near as far in the tournament as they did last year, probably a loss in the second round.

As GT has already pointed out, Duncan will not be a huge loss. He was a streaky shooter, but a huge liability on the defensive end. Burrell's defense, intensity and senior leadership will be the missing element this year. A loss in the second round? Sounds like a familiar sound to some other local teams...

Xavier- Duncan isn't much of a loss IMO. "Built like Tarzan, plays like Jane" had a nice tournament, but was pretty bad for most of the season. The key for X is Terrell Holloway at PG. He's a kid I loved watching play the last two summers, and I think he'll ease the pain of losing Lavender.

 

Purdue- Robbie Hummel is one of the best SOPHs in the country, and I think Painter has that program on the rise. E'Twaun Moore gives them some scoring punch on the wing and he's also a great defender.

 

Georgetown- Here's the name to watch out for. PG Chris Wright. He was injured almost all of last year, but did return for the tournament. Kid is going to be great running that system. Not sold on Monroe, so they do have issues in the paint...

 

 

I haven't seen much of Holloway. You like him? Does he play like Drew?

Not to really argue your points but Wake is basically ranked because of their recruiting class from last year.

I think Duke is right where they should be for preseason. Most of you guys don't realize how good they will be this year. Their guard depth is tops in the country. With two new bigs to bang down low and they get solid production from them they will contend.

 

Guards cannot defend the way Coach K wants them to in that system. They lost Nelson who was a good defender, but Paulus is a liability on defense. Plus they don't anyone proven inside except for Singler.

Once again, why do we have to bring up other teams when we talk about one team? I was saying Xavier won't be good. Then you throw in a shot against other local teams out of no where. Focus on the issue at hand.

First time in 12 years both UK & Arizona have been left out of the preseason poll.

REALLY wanted him to go to UC, but when they got Cash he moved on. Very heady, tough and typical NYC PG. Not much of a scorer at this point, but he's strong with the ball, an above average passer and a pretty solid defender for a FROSH. Plus he's a great kid (something I couldn't say for Drew)...

Good to hear. As far as the bolded, well, I can't argue with you.

So are you a Duke fan or a UK fan? Because that avatar is crazy man. As a Duke fan I do think that we are ranked a bit to high. With that being said, do I think they could be a top five team? Absolutly. They have a tough non-conference schedule this year which should help them out in the long run. Dont be suprised if Duke has 3 or even 4 losses going to into ACC play.

 

He is most likely doing what every UK fan should do, and become a DUKE fan.. It's just the right thing to do..

They are exactly where they need to be. There is absolutely no reason that UK should be in the Top 25. Lost in the first round last year, lost two big scorers in Crawford and Bradley. Do I think they will be the Top 25 in March? Actually, yeah I do. But right now, they have proven nothing to be in the talks with the Dukes, UCLAs, North Carolinas, or even the Gonzagas of the country.
