Regardless of the actual diagnosis, the kid is hurt. Can we all agree on that? He probably wont be 100% the rest of the season but that doesnt mean the Beechies wont run the table and make the State Final game. Teipel is an exceptional athlete and could probably excel at 75%.

 

If he doesnt play in a playoff game that could be a big loss though and would give their opponent a definite advantage.

If you all haven't realized, by talking about someones injury and spreading rumors you may ruin his chances of playing at the college level. So for every one out there QUIT and I repeat QUIT talking about this friend of mine who is sitting right next to me! He is ok and will be playing in every game the rest of the season! So please no more threads on this silly subject!

 

Now, having posted once, I WILL say that I believe the "word is out" about what an excellent athlete Neico is. I don't think anything posted in this thread will diminish his potential in the eyes of college coaches. JMO.

Exactly. Worst possible case on here says that he may have 2 broken bones in his foot. He's 18, he'll heal. I don't see this as a major injury that will make or break any possible scholarship offers.

I hope like heck it wasn't a Beechwood fan that made the initial post. There's a reason why injury information is tried to be kept confidential by coaches. Such information, if made public, can dramatically affect the opposition's preparation for an upcoming game. While it may seem wrong, opposing players can target an injured area if they are made aware of it in an attempt to knock the player out of the game. Nothing good can ever come out of injury information being made public. Smart fans never discuss injuries of their players on here or in public. In 2006 when Castanada had to miss the playoff game against Highlands due to an injury, not a peep was made on here before the game about Joe's injury. There is no doubt in my mind that if the Highlands staff had known that he was not going to be able to play, the game plan would have been different and perhaps the result different. Kudo's to the CovCath posters about keeping quiet.

 

I don't think the member that started the thread is a Beechwood guy but I don't really know.

 

I don't know what you or anyone else expects when news of the injury is raging across Fort Mitchell like a wildfire and someone reported on it on the forum. Then once it was reported on, there was a debate about the extent of the injury because two different stories are evolving out of Beechwood.

 

At that point BGP is in a Catch-22. If we don't allow the truth to come out we are censoring everyone and if we do allow the truth to come out then the other half of the world claims it is none of anyone's business.

 

You can't un-ring the bell which in this case means we need to get to the bottom of the injury and we have absolutely confirmed there is an injury.

 

I don't want anyone to confuse my mission comments either. The mission of BGP is to the best of our ability make sure the information on BGP is correct and to debunk the false information. The facts of this particular case have nothing to do with the mission, it is all about correct vs. incorrect information.

 

Finally, threads like these are not ones I enjoy because they are a lot of work to research and report on. Furthermore, they always result in BGP suspending several members because those said members don't have command of our user agreement and they lose control of their emotions.
