I think the main challengers for Conner in the 9th this year will be Ryle and Boone County. Ryle will be young and inexperienced but there is some talent left. And, the new coaches will get a lot out of the team. Boone will also be solid. They have some young talent with travel ball experience. Beyond Boone and Ryle you would have to look at Dixie and Newport Catholic. Overall, I think the region is down a bit this year.

Simon Kenton will be fine with their new coach. While he doesn't have any high school experience he's been coaching softball for a long time.

If Montgomery County in the 10th has the pitching I think they will have, they will be extremely hard to beat if they can find some offense. I look for alot of very low scoring games this year

Montgomery will have the pitching with Paige Compton and Erin Charles and I think the bats are going to be OK. The girls had a Great summer and alot of the girls worked very hard. Harley Catron should be a big hitter for them this year. They lost alot of Power hitters but I think you will see alot of RBI'S this year from solid base hitting.

what about the sixth, someone said wright at Butler wasnt playing this year, Beth Haven, southern maybe, North Bullitt, PRP, Bullitt East, or Pres. who is going to be best

Region 1 ... probably a three-team race between Reidland, Heath and Ballard Memorial. All were fairly young teams last spring and have most of their key players coming back.

I think the 13th will look like this at the beginning of the season in regards to the top 3 teams.

South Laurel

North Laurel

Corbin

Word on the street is that GRC has a new transfer in that is over 6 foot tall and throws in the low to mid 60's!

Wonder if she is playing Basketball? At over 6 ft she should play it too. What is her name? Where did she transfer from?

South Laurel is the team to beat in the 13th Region this season .... then North Laurel ..... then Corbin. You also have to watch out for Bell County with ole J.D. coaching now.

Don't you mean J.W.? Great to see him back in the game.

How is Bell CO this year? Who are some of their best players?

I agree on your assessment of the 13th. North lost 6 seniors (5 were everyday starters) and his top 2 pitchers. However, I would not be surprised to see the Jaguars win it again. They return 4 of their top 5 offensive weapons, and Weaver seems to play such a brutal schedule that by the time the postseason rolls around, they are prepared for almost anything. South did lose Wombles and Sizemore which are major losses as well. They do bring back the best hitter (IMHO) in the state in Emily Gaines. Here is my top 5, but there is still quite a gap between the Laurels and everyone else.

You all are joking right??? You're leaving out a very good Harlan Co. team. Ellis at W'burg is a good young coach, she may surprise also. Just not that sold on "JD" yet, he had such a great group for so long at M'boro, wasn't much coaching needed. Bell's at least one year away, they have talent but are very young. That and still awful curious why M'boro wouldn't take him back.
