Featured Replies

I know it is early in the year but I am having softball withdraws. Does anyone have any ideas on their own regionals this year. In the 10th and it will probably come down to Clark County and Montgomery County again in my opinoin.

In the 8th, Shelby Co only lost one player and Oldham Co should be strong. The rest seem to be young and rebuilding.

Doesn't Anderson still have the pitcher that shut Shelby out in the Region Championship game?

Yes, but one game doesn't make a season. plus they lost their whole infield and best outfielder

13th will be either North Laurel or South Laurel. Still too much distance between these 2 programs and the rest of the 13th. North lost 6 senior starters (including their #1 & #2 pitchers). However, they will still be North Laurel, ... just a much younger version. South lost a lot as well, but not as much as North. I think South may be the region favorite. However, I think some of the other region schools are licking their chops to get a shot at North this year after all they lost. I have seen the young talent he has coming from underclassman and a few from the middle school, and North will be fine. Shane Weaver may be the best HS softball coach I have ever seen and will get the most out of his players.

I would say that Conner has to be the favorite in the 9th region with Allen gone.

I agree with Conner, they had an extremely strong team last year and should rule with Allen gone. The 14th should be Estill again and Russell in the 16th.

I like Simon Kenton in the 8th and Conner in the 9th. Both teams have experienced pitching with a good core group behind them.

How will things at SK be with the new coaching staff? The old staff had a lot of experience.

Rowan, Ashland, along w/ Russell are favorites in the 16th.

Who do you think will provide a challenge for Conner in the 9th?

Who is the pitcher for Conner? I remember a tall blond girl from last year. Did she gradruate and what grade is she in?

Kelsey Robinson will be a senior this year .Conner should win the 9 th.They were fairly young last year.Wasn't there catcher a freshman?

SK lost FARRIS and that was a big stick. However, strong coming back. Pitcher /Catcher battery is real solid. Kayla Morgan a top pitcher. Her in 8th and Robinson in 9th are really tough. All but FARRIS (SS) are returning and Conely (2B).

SK former Coach Baker took ADMIN job a Carrollton Co. Jeff Morgan is new head coach. Tons of experience in select with several national finishes.

The catcher at Conner is a junior this year.
