I'm a gun owner and I support the second amendment, but neither are important enough to be a deciding factor come election time. I just hope whoever is elected worries about more important things.

I am very sorry, but I have trouble taking advice on which issues are important or unimportant from a guy who isn't voting because of time & gas.

It's about your right to keep and bear arms. So to me it's as much about the guns you hunt with as any other gun you own.

The 2nd amendment does not put ANY limits on the right to bear arms. There is no exception for convicted felons or those that are mentally ill. It does not limit ANY type of gun (including fully automatic military assault rifles). How can we put ANY limits that the constitution does not give on the right to bear arms?

Those limits have been put on people by the courts.

I don't own a gun, but I do support the 2nd amendment. With that being said, I am still voting Obama.

I feel it's a good thing that the mentally ill are not allowed to own a gun if that's what you're asking me. I have no problem with me not being able to buy a fully automatic rifle with out a very expensive and very hard to get license.

I don't disagree with you. I guess my point is that ANY exception (mental illness, types of weapons) to the 2nd amendment can be said to go against it. How then can we call another exception wrong and anti-guns rights?
