If Obama wins, will you feel sorry for his little kids?

 Good point.

These posts got me thinking. Where does the vice president actually live at?

Obama's wife will not be vice president. I watch alot of tv and it seems to me the BGPer's think Palin was a better vp pick than most of the republicans I listen to.

I think Hoot's point (which is a good one ;)) is that in our modern world, both mothers and fathers are responsible for raising their kids, so Obama's young children will, at time, be deprived of their father.

You really didn't say that did you?:sssh:

I think Palin will try to maintain a high national profile to remain visible and viable for 2012. She'll almost certainly seek to beef up her non-existent foreign policy and economic resume. But in the end, I think her brand of Republican-ism is on the way out--she's too much like Bush. She'll flame out early in the 2012 Republican primary and never be heard from again.

If Sen. Obama wins, I've heard everything from "future of the party and inevitable Presidential nominee in 2012", to "never heard from again."

As always, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Can't see her at the top of the ticket in 2012 but with her new notoriety she won't flame out of the picture either. I agree with the people who see her running for a national office and working to gain foreign policy exposure.

So is this just a warm-up for Palin vs. Clinton??

If McCain/Palin fails in '08, why do we think she would be able to make a go of getting any further on her own in the future?

Examples:

Geraldine Ferraro was a tough congresswoman for 6 years but her politial career waned after the '84 loss.

Bob Dole failed with Ford in '76 and never got over the hump until '96 as the GOP nominee. I'm convinced the only reason he eventually did that was because he kept a name for himself and service in the Senate all those years.

Edmund Muskie was a can't miss in '72 after he lost on the Humphrey ticket in '68. In fact he led or was close to Nixon in many polls going into the Primary season but was derailed during the primaries by the Canuck Letter and never heard from again.

John Edwards, need we say more?

I don't think it's a really given that Palin will do much more than what she has now. Another factor is that she comes from a disconnected state whose oil may save us but who still brings little to the table in terms of votes, electoral college power or even regional draw. (i.e. a Governor of Arkansas has some appeal to other southern states or a New York Governor would have broader appeal in the Mid-Atlantic, etc.)

Which part? ;)

For the record, I think both can be responsible parents (due, in part, to their spouse) if they serve in the capacity of P or VP.

It would appear that would only be a possibilty if McCain won, wouldn't it?

Yes.

Yes.

Chelsea turned out to be a very wonderful young lady. All the children in both families seem to be very grounded, for the most part. I think Obama's oldest and Palin's youngest, in particular are precocious enough to make the White House Watch more fun, at least. :D

Indizzle Rockmizzle, though I specifically said the 'little' kids because the teens are pretty well set in their ways. The little kids are going to be scarred when mommy/daddy are out of the office and they have to adjust to being halfway normal and only having to avoid paparrazzi every OTHER day as opposed to every moment of their lives.

But then again, I haven't heard anything about the Bush daughters in quite some time. Who knows.

 You forget, I'm old. :D I think of kids YOUR age as "little" kids. :p

She may serve as a Senator for Alaska but done on the national level of politics unless some serious rebuilding of her image can be done.
