I agree with you! I think Scott will be better than Highlands, St Henry, and can definetly beat CCH & Ryle this year. I believe they should be ranked at the 6 spot, but 9th only infront of a Dixie team they beat by almost 20+ plus this summer? Just my opinion though. Also CCH is definetly ranked a little too high. They return 1 starter I think in Mitch Shover?

What you also have to realize though is outside of Holmes and Boone, the 9th really isn't that strong this year. This is why I say CCH will win a lot of games and be better than a lot of people think. There are many other teams in nky who also lost key players as well.

 

Looking at the teams, I'd say CCH, Highlands, Newcath, and Ryle all are about even with CCH getting the nod. If the coaches are voting CCH as the #3 team in the region, it's for a reason; not just because of their name.

Don't underestimate St. Henry, They have a good senior base returning plus 4 juniors who should help with depth. Coach Faust should have alot of depth to make them very competetive this year. All in all the 9th region will be fun to watch this year.

Dixie returns Mitch Bosey who sat out a nice chunk of last season due to a injury, and Stephen Pompillio who was their 6th man I believe. Connor has Demitrius Avery who IMO could be a top player in the region by seasons end. Thel also return their 6th man I believe, Tyler Break. It was Thomas and Pugh who graduated. Not Thomas and Lang. Pugh and Thomas did do a lot of Connors scoring last year, a lot of their rebounding, and a almost all of their leadership ran through them.

 

With those lost and what they have back would you say that they should be ranked this high? I will agree that Avery has the potential to be great and not having him at the beginning of the season hurt Connor. As for Dixie, they lost their scoring and their leadership and I think it will be a rebuilding year for the Colonels.

Totally don't think Dixie should be ranked 10th, they lost Lawson, Kendal, Efflin Tyler, Luke Mace, Zac Ballard and maybe another one or two. They return a player who was hurt for most of last season, and a 6th man. I don't know how they are ranked 10th? :confused:

I think they have a few nice young players coming up.

I agree, youth is great to have coming up, but preseason top 10 with no proven players is not very likely. I think Newport should be moved into the 10 spot. They have their entire team back besides Housley and a returning starter from 2 seasons ago.

Shover is the only player who has proven anything. All the others are JV players.

Dixie lost everyone too. The best player they had coming back was Smallwood and I have heard he is not even playing. I just don't get how Holy Cross loses Sorrel and they are not even in the top 12. They have a lot of seniors and a lot more expirence then some of these teams on here.

CCH has a lot of young talent. Their JV team was the only one who beat Holmes which started 3 kids that will start varsity this year and saw signifanct minutes last year down the stretch. (Pittman, Riley, D. Johnson). A lot of are really underestimating the boys in Park Hills and will be very surprised when the regular season rolls around.

 

Holy Cross may return a lot of kids but honestly the talent level of those they return isn't all that great. They are average at best. Giwa is the only real threat they have.

Holy Cross beat CCH's JV team by 10+ points. I understand why people may think their players are average because they did nothing last year with Sorrel there. These seniors were one of the top freshman teams and that was without Giwa. They have a lot to prove, but I think this team will be A LOT better than people think.

Being one of the best freshman teams doesn't exactly translate to success at the varsity level. Too many variables to factor in by the time they're seniors, such as other players developing, improving their skills, getting bigger and faster, and biggest of all the underclassmen that will be playing with those seniors.

 

Who would you replace HC with in the top 10? You can't honestly think they're better than any of the top 8 teams without Sorrell. (Holmes, Boone, CCH, Campbell, NCC, Highlands, Ryle, St Henry, Scott)

 

The only team that you'd have a legitimate point of replacing with HC would be Dixie.
