Inciteful Rhetoric

Featured Replies

In the Herald Leader today it is reported that some ACORN leaders have recieved death threats and there has been vandalism perpetrated on at least 2 of their offices.

Don't tell me that the campaign rhetoric is not stirring up violence.

Don't tell me that the campaign rhetoric is not stirring up violence.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the confirmed activities of ACORN could it?

I'm not advocating violence. I honestly can't imagine anyone calling an organization and threatening violence.

I'm just saying that it's a stretch to blame campaign rhetoric, when it's been confirmed that some ACORN workers have in fact bent the rules.

No rule breaking, no rhetoric.

It is not a stretch at all, this is how these things happen, and why fear mongering is so dangerous.

It most certainly is, but don't tell me that it's not from both sides. There have been incidents of violence and vandalism directed toward both camps' staff and offices around the country. Nuts are nuts, no matter their affiliation.

Can you give me examples of death threats and/or vandalism to a group that has been specifically mentioned by the Obama camp and democrats?

And we all know just how civil the liberals are.

for example . . .???

I've paid attention to two elections in my life. Kerry vs Bush and Obama vs McCain.

Republicans have been far worse IMO, when it comes to smearing the other candidate. From the swift boat fiasco to everything that has happened in this election...republicans do not hold back at all.

Yes, and you can google search and find them yourself if you are of the mind to. Or you can try to claim one side is worse than the other and make yourself look bad.

Other people see it as much worse by the democrats. It's all in how we're looking at something. It's the same reason people can watch the same debate and come out with completly different opinions on who won.

Is there a reason that we should take the word of these ACORN leaders? Is there a reason that we should believe that a bunch of computers were stolen from an ACORN office just as an FBI investigation was about to begin?

Honestly, this is an upside world when a group is actively engaged in election theft and their claims of victimhood are taken seriously. Some people take their voting privilege very seriously, so I can believe that the death threat reports are true but I can just as easily believe that the claims are exaggerated or are outright lies.

So, in other words "no you cannot."

In other words, you can, but choose not to. You see what you want.
