Yes I do. In fact in Ohio I would be willing to bet any amount of money that it has already happened. Additionally I would be willing to bet that people who are dead voted.

And its only Democrats that do it?

I'm not sure, but I know that the Dems got it through against Republican opposition in Ohio.

In Ohio, it appears that way. Otherwise, I believe that the Democratic Secretary of State would be trying to do a credible job to prevent voter fraud. Instead, she got caught trying to invalidate thousands of Republican registration forms and she continues to refuse to share information with election officials to help them identify potential voting fraud.

How about alleged Republican tampering and voting irregularities in Florida in 2000? That changed an entire election...

I'm not defending ACORN. All I'm saying is that no one is going to present themselves as Mickey Mouse and try to vote.

UKPat- the thing is, the more bogus registrations, the more difficult it is to keep each and every bogus one out. The fact that they are using names as ridiculous as Mickey Mouse only leads me to believe that they are, in a likelihood, registering a tremendous amount of bogus voters. And I am sure that only leads to more slipping through the cracks

Please cite the case(s) where anybody was indicted or convicted of any voting irregularities in Florida. ACORN is currently being investigated in at least a dozen states this year and the election has not even taken place. ACORN employees have been convicted of voter fraud in the past (on behalf of Democratic candidates) and Obama paid them through CSI to register voters in Ohio this spring.

But when you get Mickey Mouses registered to vote, it tells me that the employee is just "padding his stats", so to speak. It doesn't seems like there is intention there to actually try to change the election. Again, I'm not condoning registration fraud, I'm just saying it would appear that a few hired hands are trying to make some more money rather than steal an election.

And you know, probably no one is going to be indicted this time, either. Point is, it comes from both sides.

ACORN employees WERE indicted in 2004. Crimes have been committed in the 2008 campaign by ACORN and/or its contractors so there is no reason to conclude that there will be no indictments.

My point about Florida is that despite all of the Democrats' allegations that the Florida election was stolen from Al Gore, the recounts, both official and unofficial showed that Bush won a narrow victory. Given the charges of widespread "disenfranchisement," the fact that nobody was charged with any crime should have been enough to put an end to all of the conspiracy theories.

Even if Republicans had stolen the Florida election, it would not justify the actions of ACORN in this election cycle. Despite the past convictions, ACORN has not taken steps to prevent widespread voter registration fraud in this election. That tells me that the people registering voters are doing exactly what the ACORN management expects them to do.

See this kills me. People (not just you) are saying that it's ok to steal this election b/c the 2000 election was (allegedly) stolen. So if O wins this election and carries Ohio it will be ok for Republicans to spend the next 4-8 years trying to figure out a way to illegally rig the election? Really?

You totally missed my point. I'm readily admitting that ACORN has done some fishy things. I'm not defending them. What I'm saying is that fishy stuff goes on in every election from both sides. What gets me is folks trying to pin it all on Obama and (more or less) saying he's the mastermind behind this whole scandal.

The fact is that Obama paid ACORN affiliate Citizens' Services, Inc. $832,000 for get out the vote activities in the Democratic primary, filed misleading reports with the FEC, and then filed amended reports months after the primary was over. What we do not know is how much Obama will pay ACORN and its affiliates over the last month of this campaign for GOTV activities. Somebody is paying ACORN a lot of money to do what it has been doing and Americans may never know the full story.

Here we go again. I'm not sure I have the strength to argue this.

I used to have a "beating a dead horse" smilie, but I can't find it.
