I believe Colt Barnhill from East Carter deserves to make that list

All good players, but Kowolonek and Nichols are at least equivalent to Earls, Hatfield, and Newsome as forwards/post men IMHO.

Gabbard and Popp are at least equivalent to Justice, Cox, and Whitaker, as guards.

Flannery is at least equivalent to Stepp as a three-point shooter and is a better rebounder and mid-range scorer IMO.

I also think that Thomas Jackson should be ranked higher than some of the guards above him, based on what I have witnessed lately.

I have not seen every player on this list play, but I don't recognize several of the names. I have seen many of the players, including the ones I mentioned.

I notice that almost half the list is from Louisville/Jeffersontown, and there are very few from Lexington.

I think there are several omitted kids that the ranker(s) either has not seen or is not aware of because of who they play for, or they simply don't have the name recognition or hype yet.

I'm guessing that at least some of the list is based on which 2010 players were selected all state, region, district, etc. last year or who have already committed or known to be actively recruited by colleges, and there is nothing wrong with that, and there will be additional/new players who make those lists this season.

I'm sure there are still several very talented players flying under the radar who are top 35 material.

Also, is there only one sleeper in the state???

Why is a rater from New Jersey ranking kids in Kentucky? Has he seen all of them play? Who does he rely on for his input?

Omitting Vance Hall is a huge oversight. The kid already has college offers. He is better than many on the list. His play this year will back my statement up.

There are also others omitted who are or have been actively recruited and/or already make huge contributions to good teams. I think this list will look a lot different in a few months.

I'd be curious to know how many kids from past years' lists went on to play college and what schools they ended up at.

I'd say the the top 8 look solid:

Ricardo Johnson (Holmes)

Ge'Lawn Guyn (Scott Co)

Aaron Cosby (J'town)

Chad Jackson (Scott Co)

Dakotah Euton (Scott Co)

Shaq WIlson (Christian Co)

Josh Sewell (Trinity)

Aaron Watts (McCreary Central)

But I'd also add Elijah Pittman of Holmes in there somewhere in the 5-10 range. There's no way IMO there are 15 other JUNIORS in this state better than Pittman.

I agree these are names that follow KY high school basketball know. All I am saying is that Vance Hall will surprise many this season. I'll also go out on a limb and say there probably aren't any of the above that have a greater work ethic than this kid. He has grown, gotten stronger, is quicker and has increased his vertical. Ask the guys down at Warren Central where he played some pick up ball this summer. His uncle from Bowling Green got him in on a few of these games.

This kid (and his dad) eats, sleeps, and breaths basketball 365 days a year.

I'm incredulous that this kid never gets any mention on these lists, and he has two more years to develop.

Phillip Barner Jr. is the god son of the individual making the list. Not suprised to see him on the list.

Vance Hall had a very good summer and I look forward to him having a nice junior year. I think everyone will be very impressed with this young man.

Vance definitely belongs way up this list. The Franklin County team needs to have a break-out year this year.
