Any thoughts on this one? Both coming off losses.

Personally, I would give Greenup County the advantage. I know they took a hard loss, but they did have some bright spots. I think this will be a good, competitive game, but I see Greenup coming out on top.

I will give GCHS a slight advantage at home in this one. Should the game be at Boyd, I'll go with Boyd. Within a TD either way imo.

Both these teams have played pretty tough schedules. Boyd County's losses have come to Russell, Breathitt County, and Ashland. Greenup County's losses have come to Russell, Letcher County Central, Wheelersburg (OH), and Raceland. Neither team has come close in any of these games, though. Since this game is at Boyd County and since they have Wilson, I look for them to pull this one out 34-26.

I've had the chance to see Boyd play once this year and have not yet seen G.C.. When I watched Boyd, it seemed there were several coaching calls that did not make any sense to me. They have a good athlete in the Wilson kid but they try to move him around too much...the kid cant get in a rythm at QB because he is changing positions every other play. The B.C. offense looked confused against Ashland and I just dont see them making big enough strides in a week to bounce back and beat Greenup. It wont be a high scoring game either way but I think G.C. can come out on top.

I have to disagree on these last two posts, a week ago everyone was talking about what a good move it was putting Wilson at tailback where he ran for over 100 yards, and Arthur at QB where he threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third, now a week later everyone is complaining about the change. Neither QB had more than a second to throw the ball, which is mainly to blame for Wilson throwing two really bad picks. Again, imo if Boyd's line play doesn't get better, it won't matter if Brady, Manning, or Favre are back there, Boyd is going to struggle. Now I do agree they need to stop splitting time at QB, but Wilson is a fantastic runner and athlete, and imo should be running the ball.

You nailed it taters, they were completely dominated by Ashland up front Friday night. What the linemen didn`t get blocked the fullback #34 cleaned up.

At this point, I have to give Boyd County the advantage in this one. I realize that both teams were dominated last friday, but GC has some identity issues that go far beyond BC trying to decide where Wilson will line up. Greenup needs consistency and to finish drives. They out rushed and out passed Raceland and the total number of plays were more as well, but once in the redzone, they stalled. Is it play calling or execution? IMO, maybe the Tony Franklin system is not the right fit for the GC players. They have multiple td's in only two games all season and that system is set up for quick scores and high powered offense. Just a thought. My heart is for Greenup, but I am picking Boyd in this one.

I think Tuberville would agree with the Franklin offense remark! :D

I agree with your post doc…GC seems to have difficulty taking full advantage of the talent pool within their school district. I don’t know what the exact problem is but it has to be exasperating for those close to that program.

On paper, I think GC wins this game, but in reality (I go there every now and then) Boyd will more than likely enjoy the victory.
