October 2, 200817 yr I had a sports hernia when I was a Sophmore in H.S. It was below my belt line and to the left. I got it from lifting weights for football. I had surgery and a couple weeks after surgery I started having an extremely sharp burning pain where the hernia used to be. I went to a sports medicine shop and got some little belt like thing that I put on and it put pressure on the spot that was burning and helped ease the pain. It was kind of weird and aggravating having to put it on before basketball practice and such but yeah. Here is where mine was located...I know, I know kinda weird but come on.
October 2, 200817 yr Has anyone had Hernia Surgery? I have one around my belly button...I have decided to have surgery on it... Anyone have any Information about this kind of surgery?Not google info but personal information...Or someone you know information... PH had hernia surgery about 9 years ago....His was in he sternum area. It caused a bowel blockage...that is how we found out. Surgery was not bad and he healed well with it. They had to use mesh with the surgery..... The only problem that they had was when he was in recovery...he decided to do a dance, naked, on the recovery table...the nurse could not get him to stop, so, she called me in and when I walked in I laughed soooo hard. He was standing on the table with everything wiggling in the breeze as he danced!.....some medication he was on!:sssh::laugh::laugh::laugh: He stopped when I walked in....he looked like he was going to get into trouble! He was sooooo cute!:bunny::bunny:

October 2, 200817 yr Ok funny, strange and not funny.... I have had three hernias in my lifetime. I am a chick..yes BGP I am a chickmaybe...maybe not... :scared::eek::lol: Anyways...I have been told that it is very uncommon for me to have this many...anyways I have and life goes on... HOWEVER let's talk about my Dad. My Dad has had one since 1982. Yes, he knew but he decided it was going to be just fine if he never did anything about it. Well here we are today. The hernia is bigger than Texas. He will have it fixed (because he has no other option). He will be in the hospital at least a week and five week recovery. He could die if it ruptures before then because it has wrapped around part of the bowel. He plans to wait until December for the surgery becasue he is sooooo busy (even though he is retired). Don't wait get it fixed. End of my story!
October 4, 200817 yr Had my right hernia repaired while in college, Just had my left repaired last week. Healing just fine. Not too much pain, went off the pain meds that evening.
October 4, 200817 yr Author I'm thinking about asking my surgeon if He will do a little Liposuction on my belly why He's already in there... I got a feeling it's not going to happen...
October 22, 200817 yr Author Ok guys My hernia surgery has been set in stone...Monday October 27 at 8:30 A.M...The Doc said it will be a very easy procedure...From what others have told me about the doc I have no reason not to believe him...I'm ready to get this over with so I can get myself back healthy and in shape...:thumb:
October 23, 200817 yr Hey AA, you remember the thread that was on BGP a few days ago concerning the guy whose doctors made a mistake and amputated his penis? You know that one? Get this. He was in for a hernia operation. If I were you, I would pass on the anesthesia so you can keep an eye on the doctor while he works. Sure it'll hurt a bit, but its a small price to pay to ensure that you remain intact. AA, don't forget my previous advice.
