October 2, 200817 yr Had hernia surgery about 4 months ago, really not to bad just sore for about a week afterwards. Good thing was no work for a few weeks.

The first one he had busted lose (because he picked up something he wasn't suppose to). He was very sore for a couple of weeks. The first surgery was out patient but when he had the second one he had to stay in the hospital overnight. His was a bit lower than his belly button.

From what I understand this should be out patient...Did He have the surgery in Danville?If so what Surgeon did He use?
October 2, 200817 yr Had double hernia surgery a couple years ago. A little sore the first couple days, but not bad around day 3-4. The pain pump was good, but I wouldn't do it again. If they offer it, make sure Insurance covers it. It probably won't, but they won't tell you until it's to late.

My Insurance should cover it...But the bad thing about my insurance is I have a $4000 deductible...Gotta do what I gotta do...:thumb:
October 2, 200817 yr Really the worst for me was the gas they put in your body cavity to help the laproscopic instruments perform the surgery. It takes awhile to dicipate out of the body, sometimes pocketing/settling in certain areas. I had extreme back pain for a few days and also thought the surgeon had broken my shoulder. He just gave me pain medication and told me it was the gas causing problems.

He was in for a hernia operation. If I were you, I would pass on the anesthesia so you can keep an eye on the doctor while he works. Sure it'll hurt a bit, but its a small price to pay to ensure that you remain intact.

Its a very tough choice - go to sleep and lose your penis vs. stay awake and wonder why the medical staff are whispering and laughing

I told mrs AA about that and She told me not worry she will be keeping both of her eyes on the Doc the entire surgery... B.T.W.
