National City Bank in Trouble?

Featured Replies

So you think Bank of America is done?

Certainly not, I cant believe they slipped my mind being the largest bank in the country. Thanks for pointing them out.

In a nutshell there will be a core of strong banks and those are the ones in my earlier post as well as BOA.

On a sidenote a friend told me that a ton of US Banks on the westcoast acknowledged over $200,000,000 in deposits for that region in one day last week amidst the WAMU failure.

I just got back from our local branch (N.C.B) and was told this

As of right now the stock is way down but there have been zero talks of major changes going on.

If they make any changes all accounts are F.D.I.C. insured so anyone who has less than 100 thousand in the bank can and will be able to get ALL OF THEIR MONEY OUT!!!

Plenty of Banks will get out of this just fine. Nat City may recover but it doesn't look very good.

National City Bank is in trouble trust me. Their HQ is in Cuyahoga County and there were 72,000 foreclosures in that county alone last year. I would have to think they have a bunch of those on their books.

There will be only 4 big banks to survive this mess. Wells Fargo, Citibank, US Bank and PNC. JMO

That is absurd.

CVS/Pharmacy pulled all their accounts nation wide at the beginning of August from National City and went to Chase. I know this for fact.

My mortage is with National City but I'm not worried at all.

PNC bank will buy National City. PNC is well capitilized (made a fortune off blackrock) and have been eyeing Nat City for a long time.

As is mine nWo....

This is what I am hearing as well.

I don't really see any reason that would benefit PNC right now.

I'm not worried about my money for two reasons. (1) I'm with US Bank and (2) I don't have enough to worry about. :p

Well, lets see...PNC would take more of the market share that they are currently splitting with Nat City (retail)...and would also be buying Nat City for about .10-.20 cents on the dollar. Value investing.

They aren't splitting the market with Nat City anymore. They have a strangle hold on it.

Went to National City yesterday and ask them about it. They said no,it's not in trouble.
