September 26, 200818 yr Very interesting website. A very comprehensive list of media bias examples. Enjoy (or hate). http://www.mediaresearch.org/archive/realitycheck/welcome.asp
September 26, 200818 yr Do you believe that the war in Iraq is a task from God? No. But I also don't believe that it is ethical or honest to take Palin's comments out of context when that is NOT what she said. I believe her comments were to pray that our military as doing what God wanted not that they ARE doing God's will, but to pray that they are. I often pray to God that I am doing his will. Just like Obama's campaign did in taking Rush Limbaugh's comments directed at the Mexican government, apply them to immigrants in the USA and then tie them to McCain, ... who has bucked against Rush and most republicans on the issue of immigration reform either. Where is the outrage? :sssh:
September 26, 200818 yr Being that it's a product of The Media Research Center, I wonder how very comprehensive the list is. After all, their slogan is "The Leader in Documenting, Exposing, and Neutralizing Liberal Media Bias" (according to Wikipedia, whose accuracy is often in question). Here's their home page. http://www.mediaresearch.org/

"Gibson and Maddow are simply wrong. Here is what Palin said at the Wasilla Assembly of God church on June 8, 2008: "Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for: that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan. So bless them with your prayers, your prayers of protection over our soldiers." So how was it taken out of context? Yes, they left out some of the quote but the quote is the quote - "on a task THAT IS FROM GOD."

She said Pray for that, not that it actually is. You're doing what the media is, twisting her words to fit what you want them to.
September 26, 200818 yr Author Being that it's a product of The Media Research Center, I wonder how very comprehensive the list is. [/url] I find it hard to believe that there would be bias in reporting bias.

She is saying pray that our leaders are sending them on a task that is from God. Is it that hard to understand?
September 26, 200818 yr She is saying pray that our leaders are sending them on a task that is from God. Is it that hard to understand? So she doesn't believe its a task from God?
September 26, 200818 yr So she doesn't believe its a task from God? Doesn't sound like it, only that she wants people to pray that it is. Makes sense.
September 26, 200818 yr So she doesn't believe its a task from God? IMO, no. She was asking for people to pray that the war was God's work.
September 26, 200818 yr IMO, no. She was asking for people to pray that the war was God's work. Isn't that what I said? Or are we splitting hairs? If she's praying for it to "be" God's work isn't she saying she either hopes it is or thinks it is? And , really, does it matter to the bigger point? Do we as a society believe that God wants us in or directs us to a war?
September 26, 200818 yr Doesn't sound like it, only that she wants people to pray that it is. Makes sense. I'm confused. How can you pray that its a task from God but either believe that its not truly or that it shouldn't be?

Not to get to religous on this but in the Our Father, Jesus taught us to pray that 'thy will be done'. Frankly, we need more of our leaders to pray that we are indeed doing God's will.
