Scott (2-1) travels to Holmes (2-1) Friday night for a very important district game. Scott has wins vs Walton Verona and Dayton and loss to CCH. Holmes has victories vs Dayton and Holy Cross and loss to HHS. Both are coming off lopsided defeats in district games. In the last 6 years the series is tied at 3-3.

 

In a 5 team district that includes Cov Cath, Highlands, and Dixie, the loser of this game will probably be out of the playoff picture, or at best will have a really tough road to get back into contention. This shapes up to be a crucial game for both programs...

I don't think Holmes defense gives up 35 to Scott. Unless, of course, they turn it over 7 times deep in their own territory.

Tough one to call. I'd caution anyone not to use the HHS score as a barometer unless you think Holmes will put the ball on the ground 7 times.

 

I'll take Holmes with the revenge factor being the difference.

I'm going with the Eagles just because I'd like to see them finally go down to Covington and win one. The past 3 times Scott has beat Holmes was in Taylor Mill on Homecoming which everyone is pumped for. I'm saying Scott 21-14. If Campbell has his guys run the offense right, he'd have them pound the ball with Bruner untill Holmes weak defense stopped it and then hit Reyes with a break away play. After 3 games all teams are going to be keying on Reyes so try something different with Bruner and scare some people. Go Eagles!!!

Any Dayton Greendevils on here to comment about this game? They have seen both teams play up close. It would be interesting to hear their thoughts.

You may be right I might not be giving Scott enough credit. They have improved much since last year with Campbell as coach...
