September 24, 200817 yr Joey Votto hit a homerun tonight in the top of the 7th inning against the Astros. They ruled it a single on the field, went to the replay, which clearly shows the ball hit a seat, and bounce back on the field, and the umpires still didn't get the call right. It took close to 7 minutes for them to make a decision.

September 24, 200817 yr Kinda hard to say it doesn't work though. I mean does the NFL replay get every call right? No! Misleading title, yeah they blew this call, but even with replay refs/umps are still blind so what can you expect.

September 24, 200817 yr After looking at the replay once again, you can clearly, and I mean clearly, see that the ball does not hit the seats. You can see it hit the padding of the wall because the padding makes a crease and you can see it cushion against the padding. They even said it on ESPN, and after watching the replay for a 3rd time you can really see it didn't hit the seats.

It did hit the padding there's no doubt about that, but then it goes behind the padding, hits the seat, and then changes direction and goes back onto the field. And oh yeah, ESPN is ALWAYS right. :rolleyes:

September 24, 200817 yr No crease, I'm not sure how replay work in MLB, but I don't think there was irrefutable evidence either way,... EXCEPT that like they said, their was no crease in the yellow. Which leads me to believe it didn't hit the yellow.

The seat didn't move? Is that seriously your argument? The ball hit the top of the wall, went behind the wall hit a seat, and changed directions. Heck seats don't even move when I sit in them. :lol: Did you watch the guys reaction in the stands? That right there was another convincing piece of evidence for me. What do you think made the ball change directions?
