KillerCats09 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 First district game for both teams. Any thoughts on it?
That's Pat Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Look for the Wildcats to win this big Class AA game. N-27 L-23 Good luck boys!
NEERFAN Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I see Lloyd winning by at least two scores. Lloyd 28 Newport 14
KillerCats09 Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 This game IMO will be a close one. I believe that Newport will come out ahead in the end by 2. Newport's beiggest problem thus far has been defending the running game. Price (#12) has been the leader of the team in tackles at the safety position - if I was Newport I'd move him to a line backer position and focus him on the strong side of the field.

Price is leading the team in tackles at the safety position, that should tell you something right there. What are the LB's doin, its no wonder they can't stop the run. I think Smith is the stong side LB. Edited September 21, 2008 by Einstein70
KillerCats09 Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 As I have said before - teams know that they can run against Newport so go to a 5 - 3 defense and make them throw the ball. In addition, move Price to a line backer position and float him to the strong side. Smith is a good line backer but I hate watching Newport show the blitz - come on - Smith is bouncing around - stepping toward the line and half of the time he's sitting there waiting for the snap. Why not have him sit back with a view of the ball and send him from there. But this is just my opinion - maybe they see something I don't.
Juggs Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Lloyd has played a tough schedule so far. Central Hardin in E twon is a class 6 A school and then both teams from last years class A championship ( Beechwood and Lex Christian) . The Juggs played a great game friday and i expect them to continue it this week. Go Juggs!

Lloyd has played 3 very tough teams and gave all of them a run for their money. Lloyd had over 525 yards of offense friday night. IMO it will be a blow out. Lloyd 35 Newport 10

This is the game they need to win I hope they are working hard at practice this week and maybe they will read your post and take some good advice. Smith is out there jumpin arond and has cost newport more than once goin off sides he should stay back like you said i think he is doin it on his own, other LB's blitz and they don't show it till late. Smith blitz is pick up most of the time any way.

Newport has been gettin better with every game.

Newport has been gettin better with every game. Really now? What exactly makes you believe that? They have no Defense of any kind run or pass. They do not have the speed or the talent to match up with Lloyd. I'm sorry I see this game being a blow out.:ylsuper:
