You would also lose members because of this...

 

The fact that BGP is moderated as "strictly" as it is IMO makes it a phenomenal board to read. And as you said... You'd lose a ton of members if you had people posting whatever they wanted.

I like many on here use my real last name and openly give my real first name. I guess the real question is why wouldn't you? I don't know about you but I try to teach my children that you shouldn't say something about someone that you wouldn't say to their face. I may purposely leave out a coaches name when discussing a past call made so as to discuss a situation without picking on a person, but in general my comments are pretty straight forward. I would say that 90% + of the posters on here would openly give their name if asked?

 

With that being said the real beauty of the site is that it's your choice! You can if you want, but you do not have to. Therefore the coaches that want to post and read and not worry about everyone micro-analyzing every comment can do that with a slight level of anonymity. I only personally know one coach and he is a frequent poster and reader. His comments (that i have read) have NEVER been directed negatively at any player or other coach for that matter.

 

Remember that Ram's numbers for coaches are probably (??) taken from the coaches that have FREE accounts and names he knows are coaches, but for all you know I could be a coach? Although my wife assures me I'm not and never will be, I could be? So i'd put the number somewhere around 40% of all coaches at least look at the site?

I think the number is higher. Of the 9 posters that I know who they are, 7 of them are coaches.
