I hope everyone had a safe trip home , that is a long drive with a late start back to the mountain country.

Harlan County needs to be playing up in 5A where they belong even 4A. Then you may not be so solid.

Very impressive defense tonight stopping Fleming 9 times in the backfield during the first half and probably that many sacks on the QB total for the game. The Fleming QB went out with an injury after a big sack by Calton, hope he is ok. A lot of young Black Bear underclassmen play during the second half. The Black Bear Nation totaled approximately 150 at Fleming tonight despite the obstacles. Go Black Bears.:ylsuper:

 

Fleming looked pretty good on their first drive then when it sputtered out so did they. They didn`t have much snap to them after that. They have some good looking players , big line. Those Black Bears did a great job up front on both sides of the ball all night. A couple of times I thought they were going to get to the QB before the ball did.

Harlan Co. has a good defense sacking Newsome 6 times. If the snaps were better would have helped Fleming. Not that it would have mattered but Fleming had a few kids with injuries and 2 more were ejected due too personal foul penalties

Just want to say congrats to our Bears on an impressive win in their first district game!!! The defense absolutely rocked last night. Also, props to all the fans who traveled 4 hours and paid $5 per gallon of gas to see the Bears play last night (we had a very impressive crowd in spite of those 2 factors). WE DO LOVE OUR BEARS!!!

Copngrats to the Black Bears on an awesome district win. Their defense looked most imprssive last night. Several BEARS had some awesome plays. I will be interested to see the stats. THE BLACK BEAR NATION was out in huge numbers last night considering the drive and gas prices. Hope Zach along with others on injured list, will be healthy for Lee Co., VA FriDAY.

:dancingpa I was talking with some Fleming Fans and they couldn't believe how many fans we had or how good our boys had been taken care of yesterday ( they got fed very well twice). They "wished" that they had fans with that much dedication to the team. GO BLACK BEARS:dancingpa

The JV play at Leslie County on MOnday and the Freshman team will travel to South Laurel on Thrusday before we Travel to Lee Co. on Friday. Come on out and support all the BEARS.

Thats what happens when you have a quarterback that cant move. The Dugan kid done well after Newsome went out with injury. Too many kids playing out of position for Fleming.
