In 1992, I voted for Ross Perot because I was so angry at George H. W. Bush for reneging on his "Read my lips" pledge. I have regretted throwing away my vote ever since. McCain and Obama are not the best that this country has to offer but they are the only two people who have any shot at being elected.

 

Even if a third-party candidate like Barr had a chance of being elected, without a substantial number of members of his own party in Congress to support his agenda, Washington would become an even worse mess than it is today.

 

Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal are the most Reaganesque politicians to come along since the Great Communicator left office. That alone is enough reason for me to hold my nose and vote for John McCain. I will not cast my vote in such a way that it will result in higher taxes and the decimation of the miliary ever again. No way.. No how. NObama!

If Al Qaeda is the enemy, and the enemy is in Iraq, and I'm going to Iraq to fight them and protect ourselves and others from them, then what difference does it make if they weren't in Iraq 7 years ago when they attacked us? Wouldn't I still be going to "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."?

 

Suppose some bullys came through your neighborhood and broke every car window on your street. A week later you find out they had moved their vandalism across town to another neighborhood and your son and his friends formed a group to go after them to stop them from doing this again.

 

Would you say, "don't go into that neighborhood because those guys weren't in that neighborhood when they planned it or our windows were broken"?

The troops Palin spoke to are going to fight today, not seven years ago. Al Qaeda was the terror group at the heart of 9/11. Al Qaeda is in Iraq at this time. Al Qaeda will be among the those who the troops Palin spoke to are going to fight. Her comments were right on the mark. You are once again desperately slinging poop... :lol:
