Lastest Daily Tracking Poll from Rasmussen shows Obama leading by 5 points overall .

 

From an electoral count its 193 to 183 with decideds and 264 to 247 with "leaners" included with Obama being in the lead.

 

Interesting note I found is that both candidates had their counts go down immediately after naming their VP. Obama went down 3 and McCain went down 2.

^I'm confused how they came up with those numbers. Colorado was placed in the leaning Democrat side, even though McCain was ahead in the poll. Other's with McCain in front, such as Ohio, and Nevada were classified as toss-ups. It couldn't have been margin of error either, because some states had only 1% gaps and were said to be leaning one way or the other....

Better support than the ABC article but still not conclusive to me. McCain as the one article acknowledges was almost paranoid about secrecy involving his pick. Perhaps I'm giving him too much credit, but it makes sense to intentionally let some false info get out to throw people off the trail. Didn't Biden say shortly before he was named that he was in no way going to be the VP choice? Do you think he was being genuine or that Biden was intentionally throwing the scent to keep the hounds away? Perhaps McCain was considering Lieberman. Heck I don't know and maybe Palin was decided upon at the last minute. I don't know that either. All I know is that Palin has supposedly been discussed by R insiders as a possible VP choice for several months.

 

By the way, I've met Novak. He's actually been down my farm; it was the fall of 06. We spent a lot of time talking. Nice guy. When we met, I had on filthy blue jeans, hadn't shaved, had a old ball cap on and a Carhart jacket that had more holes than cloth. When he asked where I practiced law and I told him it was with a firm of about 300 attorneys and my office was in Cinti, you should have seen the look on his face. It was hilarious. He assumed based on my appearance that I was some back woods attorney from some small town in Ky (which I would be just fine with by the way). He definitely has an inside the beltway attitude. He was dumbfounded to see lawyers, bankers and business owners, along side union members, out in the country shooting clay pigeons and shooting pistols and fully automatic weapons. He genuinely acted like he'd never been outdoors before in his life. In spite of that, he seemed like a decent chap.

If this is true than the strategists on the campaign are uncannily prescient. Woman considering the liberal policies of Clinton would then switch to support the conservative policies of Palin?

Obama is wrong on a number of issues. No president is going to appoint a cabinet that doesn't share many of the same political beliefs as said president. Using that basic logic, he's saying Obama is going to fill his cabinet with a bunch of people who take the wrong view on the issues.

You would have gotten a real kick out of it. What made it even funnier to me was as he's looking at me with this look of disbelief, he's eating a bowl of venison chili (I didn't tell him it was venison until he finished) some of which he's spilled down his tie and the front of his shirt. I just thought that it was funny. But again, he seemed like a pretty good guy and I enjoyed talking to him. I know its his job, but he was just totally wrapped up in DC politics and I couldn't help but thinking that he thought the world ended at the beltway.

So you're saying that you and LBBC don't know who will be in his cabinet but , rather, you're just going ahead and assuming? Interesting.

You realized that McCain has missed a substantially greater number of votes in this past congressional session then Obama?

You realize, I believe, the present votes was when he was in the Illinois State Legislature.

 

134 times he couldn't make a decision between yes or no.

 

You can get by with that in a legislature but I don't think Putin will settle with the decision of PRESENT.

 

Palin sure never had that option as a governor. She actually had to make stands on issues.
