Quirks/Oddities/Superstitions

Featured Replies

We all have them or know someone who does. Let's hear them and here are a few of mine or those I know.

· I won't step on chalk, on a Baseball field.

· Mustard only, on a Hot Dog or Hamburger.

· I know someone, that when they sneeze, it will be 9 times total.

· Shoe laces, must be over/under and not under/over, from right to left.

· A new magazine, I start at the back and work my way forward.

Let's hear them.

I'd probably exceed our server space if I posted all of mine.

I've noticed that as I've grown older, I am much less patient of people in large groups.

For example, after going to the Bob Dylan concert the other night, my brother and I went on the boat for a bit, as he was wanting to play Blackjack. I wasn't really feeling the gambling urge that much, so I told him, "Not to rush you or anything but if you're going to play, go ahead and sit down as soon as possible. Three hours around a big crowd of people is well past my limit, and this boat's getting packed." We left about 45 minutes later, before I could get involved in any incidents.

I hate to say it, but I'm almost not looking forward to Sunday's UK-UofL game. And I won't even have to pay to get in.

I do have many gambling superstitions. If I go to the track or the boat and win, I will go out of my way to remember the exact clothing combination I had on for the next time. And I have been known to wear the same T-shirt to the track 2-3 days in a row in order to preserve a hot streak. :D

When I was playing sports I had a ton of them now not so much.

I have a real problem with odd numbers of any kind. When I write, I don't like to leave stray little lines on letters and such. I like to have the bills all facing the same way in my wallet. I think it's probably borderline OCD.

I don't step on white lines...ever. In fact, I try to drive in between them when changing lanes on the highway. My wife thinks I'm an idiot for willing to die in order to miss a white line. I say I'm lucky...

Same here and always must be $1 on the outside, then $5's and so on, in order.

Tell her I said, you're normal.

Me neither...ever!

Yup.

Also, everything is in the same place, always.

Left pocket: Keys, phone (If wearing cargo shorts, phone goes in left cargo pocket.)

Right pocket: Cash, change, gum and chapstick

Right back pocket: Wallet

Left back pocket: Badge and proximity card (work days only)

My mom always told me never to watch anyone go out of sight when they left your house...bad luck.

Me neither...ever!

If I were you, I'd never take that rig into a parking lot or crosswalk...

Crashed in a crosswalk once.
Crashed in a crosswalk once.

See, those things are nothing but bad news.......

I have one, but I wouldn't really call it a superstition....

Every time, and I mean every single time, I walk into a restaurant or bar or really any establishment at all, I have to go use the bathroom before I do anything else. I usually don't even realize I'm doing it.
