Police looking into PRP player's death

I understand what you're saying, but where is the precedent. That's what our law is based off of. And unless you can find another case in the state of KY with similar circumstances, as a source of precedent then the next thing to do would be to look towards any governing body or program which regulates or restricts things such as this. It being a sport, which is played through KHSAA rules and regulations I would say that would play a big part as to whether or not charges of Wanton Endangerment can be brought forth.

I am a federal agent. When I investigate crimes, I don't give a flying flip about any private rules/guidelines/policies that an individual may or may not have been following at the time of his/her actions. They are meaningless to me. I look to see whether their actions violate criminal law. Period. Whether or not I have investigated a prior similar case is also not relevent. Every day in this country there are charges brought against individuals for a certain behavior that may not have been previously prosecuted, but nonetheless still meets all the elements of a crime under a specific law (just watch "Law and Order" - happens all the time ). It is not correct to say that because your actions - or at least part of your actions - are following some private company/organization's rules, that you are automatically exempt from any criminal ramifications.

You're investigating them though correct, not trying them in the courts. I understand you're perspective, just don't agree with it.

If I get free, I'll go up to Chase and pull the case that I read referring to the specifics that are the reasons I'm saying I don't think it would merit a charge of Wanton Endangerment.

I think all this sentence the coach is rediculous. I'm not saying this isn't a tradgedy b/c it truely is, but at least 90% of the people commenting on this don't know the kid. Who are you to say it was wrong for the coach to say suck it up. They could have been the kids on the team that never hustle and are always faking hurt, every team has one. I mean you can only cry wolf so much.

Sure, but keep in mind that I don't investigate anything that the courts (well, actually the legislature) haven't already determined to be a law/crime. I don't have the right to my own personal investigations into matters over which I have no authority, which aren't crimes (at least on the surface), and which I don't feel are winnable in court.

Can't believe anyone would issue such sentiment. Sad.

There is nothing but losers in this situation, every coach has told a kid "get off the water get back in here, finish the drill" It is unfortunate that a kid got hurt. This is why it is getting harder and harder to find good coaches. You are in a lose lose situation.

I appoligize if anyone took my last post the wrong way. I didn't by any means try to say this wasn't a tragedy, but I was trying to say you can't necessarily put all this blame on the coach. Who in their right mind would ever thinks something like this would happen. Once again sorry and may all thoughts and prayers be with the family.
