Track the Reds (Week 22)

Featured Replies

From Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus:

"What you need to know about the Reds is that with Johnny Cueto missing a start, they're seriously considering putting Bronson Arroyo in his place on short rest, after his first (and the Reds' first) complete game of the season."

While Bronson loves pitching on short rest, maybe Dusty isn't happy unless he just makes sure everyone gets injured on the pitching staff before the end of the year.

LET SOMEONE FROM LOUISVILLE GET A START!!!! What's the worst that can happen, my GOODNESS.

In halfway decent news, Harang gave up solo homers today, but he did pitch 7 innings and pitched rather well considering. That makes 2 starts in a row where it seems he might be putting it together again. He still got the loss of course, putting him at 4-14.

What would be frustrating is if he returns to form next year, winning 15 games, then you would have one of the other starters struggle or get injured.

Pitcher, Ramon Ramirez making his debut for the Reds.

And has done pretty well. :thumb:

Yep, 6 innings 5 hits, 3 earned runs, 1 walk and 4 k's.

His pitch count is at 80 through six, so you figure he will get a shot at getting through 7 innings. Not a bad debut at all, if that's the case.

Course it helps he is facing the Giants and got 6 runs of support, but a win is a win, especially with the Reds.

This is the worse baserunning Reds team ever, led by C. Patterson. Why he continues to play Bako and Patterson is beyond me, especially with some of the laziness Patterson shows on the bases.

Bronson just stole a base..

I wrote that last night when Patterson didn't score on the 3-6 double play because he quit running.

Heck, Bronson might be the best hitter, pitcher and baserunner the team has...

Bronson picks up his 13th win.

Yep and as many times as I have ripped Mr JTM, he could likely finish this season with at least 15 wins. Pretty darn impressive considering the team around him and the ups and downs he has been through.
