Both offense and defense looked good. Lots of promise for the Rebels this year.:banana:

I much had miss something, when was this scrimmage play?

Did the qb's split the reps or mostly Mason. Passing game better than run or both looked good?

Philip Mason took around 70% of the snaps tonight.

I wasn't able to make it but I hear the defense had a good and the offense was pretty good too. It could have benn 32-0, we had one TD called back for offensive holding. My report says the kids are playing more like a unit, gang tackling and all the little things

 

I also hear that next weeks game with Warren Central at WKU Stadium has been moved to Warren Central High School instead of WKU Stadium. Anybody have any news on that? That will be a bummer.

Rule 13

The Rafferty's Bowl (Boyle vs Warren Central @5pm and BG vs Henry Clay @8pm) has been moved to Bowling Green HS due to construction at WKU. BGHS has hosted the bowl game several times before and while it is not WKU, it is a nice venue for the bowl game.

I knew Boyle would be better this year but the score kinda shocks me because Central was supposed to be pretty good themselves. I expected a tighter contest.

I came away very much impressed with the defence. I think Madison Central had 1 first down. Boyle shut down their running game, and gang tackled. Lamar IMO looked very good. He was all over the field tackling and breaking up passes. Morris returned a interception back for a touchdown. I give the Defence a A+ to hold all the speed to 1 firstdown.

 

The kicking game looked good, Ross kick most in the endzone and booted a 32 yard fieldgoal with 10-15 yards to spare. Another A+

 

The offence had 2 TD's and one called back on a penalty. Jordan look good and with his height will cause some problems this year. Mason looked good throwing the ball. What impressed me the most with Mason is the one sack he took a hard hit from the blind side and held on to the ball. Goldsmsith had a really good throw to Jordon in the endzone that got called back, but look a little nervous to me. IMO I would like to see a little more of a running game. Offence gets a B-

 

I was shockled to see how many players Boyle brought. I was told that they have 90 or so, but I did not count them. It looks like Boyle had alot of fun yesterday. 24-0 Varsity is very impressive over a good 6A team this early. I'm curious as to how the Madison Central people thought of the compairson between Lex Cath and Boyle.

The rebels are back! The offensive passing game clicked, run game wasnt very good but not rb's fault, mostly offensive line being too small. Defense was absoluely stellar, if I remember they only allowed one or two first downs at the most. Cody Morris had a pick 6, Aumiller had an interception and a td, and Crutchfield had a td, with Slone getting one pick. I think the Rebels are back to old form, WHO YA WITH?

Rule 13

French will restore the BC defense to the days of the Chuck Smith era. That is French's specialty.

Is Boyle running the 4-4 or 4-3 ?

What a way to start the season. Phillip Mason looked really well. We stumbled a little with Boone at QB. However we must remember he is still adjusting to the Rebel system. The Boyle line was way outsized. but it seemed to me that Boyles speed really bothered Madison Central.

 

Also for those who left early the JV team looked pretty sharp also. They took the open drive for a touchdown. Then the defensive stopped MC.

 

It seemed to me that Boyle played more as a cohesive unit.

Looks like Boyle Co. may be on their way back.
