Rockies were in the WS they are pathetic this season. It is interested to see how teams struggle after losing the WS or Super Bowl.

Ohhh I see, Smoltz was the kind of injury risk that pitched 200+ innings over the last 3 years and was the most consistent pitcher on the Braves staff.. I see...try again

 

 

Glavine may be 42 but if you can pitch you can pitch....Before this year he'd NEVER been on the DL..so no one had any reason to believe this year would be any different.

 

Soriano may have arm problems but he was considered healthy enough to go with no arm problems at the beginning of the season.

 

And Hampton had made a full recovery of his arm problems during this past offseason, the injuries he suffered over this year was with his groin, and hamstring...

:thumb:Especially when you add Soriano into the mix with his history of arm troubles. I didn't remember that many analysts picking the Braves in the preseason, I remember the Tigers being the popular choice. But that may have been other publications and not ESPN.

Have you seen their pitching rotation? It is horrible. If it were not for the vets (which were not supposed to be relied upon this season), they would probably be 10 games under .500. Depite injuries, their offense has underperformed big time... too inconsitent.

 

Mussina (Not even supposed to be in the rotation this season. Great season for him.)

Pettite (Penciled in as the 4th starter coming in to the season. Solid peformance.)

Wang (Ace of staff. Done for the season - injury)

Ponson (Dumped from Houston and picked up mid-season and has been solid)

Hughes (In minor leagues after a few horrible outings at the big boy level)

Kennedy (In minor league after a few horrible outings at the big boy level)

Rasner (Relied upon to be the 4th starter right now. That signals major trouble)

Pavano (Can you do anything but :lol: when thinking of Pavano. Sad to think they are anxiously awaiting this guy's return).
