CC is like 7-0 with about a 1.60 ERA since coming over to the NL. Impressive yes but he is facing batters who have only faced him a few times so he has the advantage. While Brandon Webb is 6-0 in his last 8 starts with a 1.83 ERA not much difference plus Webb has to face the same batters over and over again, which is advantage batter. Plus right now Webb is pithching a gem against the Padres not allowing a run so after tonight their stats are almost identical since CC came over.

Brandon Webb added to his Cy Young resume tonight with a win vs. the Padres...........7 shutout innings, 3 hits, 3 bb's, 8 k's. This puts Webbs record to 19-4 with a 2.74 era.

I think its a lock now for Lee and Webb.

Webb+Lee for me. The pitcher that hasn't gotten much pub and has just been amazing as far as eating quality innings to keep the pen fresh is Halladay. He always seems to fly under the radar. I'm not saying he's a Cy Young guy this year but I don't think he gets enough pub for the amount of innings he just eats up. Dusty Baker would have a field day with him!

If the Reds were having a better season Volquez would be right up there with everyone else but im going with Webb and Dice-K

If Sabathia doesn't lose an NL start, the race between he and Webb will be closer than some think.

Who knew that Lee has now won 10 straight starts and could easily end up with 23 wins. He wins the Cy Young easily, just unbelievable how well he continues to pitch. You keep waiting for him to hit a stretch like Brandon has had and it just isn't happening.

If Cliff Lee does NOT win it, it will be a shame. I say he will win the Cy Young and it will come down to Pedroia/K-Rod for MVP.

I think things would get mighty interesting if Sabathia finishes 11-0 or better and Arizona misses the playoffs.

 

Even though I would hate to see Sabathia win it, I think it would be valid if those two things happened.

I agree and there will be debate, about NL dominance it Sabathia finishes undefeated.

Not a surprise considering the close races between the White Sox/Twin, Rays/Red Sox, Phillies/Mets and Dodgers/Diamondbacks.

 

Now you add to it all the NFL and college stuff going on, Lee will get 2-3 minutes of face time when he starts and that's it.

 

Not really fair and I'm sure a lot of people, myself included, won't/don't realize what a great year he has had. You add to it the struggles he had last year, it makes this run even more astonishing.
