And why do they call it a "near miss" when two planes come close to crashing into one another? It's not a near miss, it's a near hit. I have always wondered that if you have the ability to take one step and be in the next time zone and the next step be in the next time zone, each step losing an hour (for example going from 5:00 p.m., to 4:00 p.m., to 3:00 p.m., etc.) where would you be when you came back around to the start? Well for the first 23 steps you would go back 23 hours, but that 24 step would put you right back where you started. :thumb: Go to the north pole and try it. :banana:

In essence, you would have gone back a day... I think. My only conclusion about this puzzle is that time really means nothing. This also supports my feeling that we should be on a universal time system. I have never understood the point of time zones.
