Who of those 4 do you get rid of or aside from Sheets, who would the Reds add as a 5th starter. If I were in charge, only Cueto and Volquez would be back....Arroyo would be dumped first chance I got, and I'd try to get a solid young return on Harang.

Harang has had one bad year and while Arroyo isn't worth the 11 million or so he is getting next year, he will get the Reds 10 wins. Harang just turned 30 this year and has 16 wins in each of the last two years. You know he will bounce back next year and is a strong presence in the rotation

One other move, and I know you all will tell me how dumb it would be, that I would do is try to sign Orlando Hudson and move Phillips to SS. Kepp is good, but he is not an every day player and the defense would be unreal up the middle...

However, IMO, the window is closing for Harang, and I don't know if the position players will be ready before he's past his prime (which he already may be). I think a rotation w/ Volquez, Cueto, Maloney, Thompson, and Bailey or Livingston will be just as good in two years than the one which includes Arroyo and Harang. The pitching staff isn't what needs help, IMO...

I think he'd be very good there...

They are going to get too much money for too many years. They need to get lucky w/ a FA or hope the younger guys improve. They will not compete for the playoffs next year anyway.

I disagree, I think this move tends to be looking farther into the future... However, that is because I don't think they'll be able to land the necessary parts this offseason for the position players. With Harang back up to shape, and if Arroyo ever gets consistant, we will have a top rotation IMO... The young guys are only going to get better this offseason...

Votto, Bruce, Dickerson, With Alonso playing first base. Future lineup anyway, How close are the the reds getting to signing Alonso, they only have a few more days to do so, correct?
