August 10, 200818 yr I was watching ESPN and I heard some of the NFL guys say the Jets could make the playoffs this year. Does anyone else see that NOT happening? This is the same team who went 4-12 last year? Sure that had a solid draft, but how much is that really gonna help? I mean I know they got Favre, but can he still play like he has in the past at his age? Looking at that schedule, it's not the easiest in the league. I see them going 6-10, maybe 7-9. What does everyone else think?
August 10, 200818 yr Not only did they draft they picked up some free agents. It really depends upon Favre. If he plays well they could go 8-8 or 9-7 and you really don't know from year to year what will make the playoffs.
August 10, 200818 yr The Jets made some other moves than getting Favre, they have improved themselves greatly imo but improved from 4-12 may not be saying a a lot. I am picking 8-8 and hoping for 9 wins and a possible playoff for the Jets this season. I just don't think it will happen.
August 10, 200818 yr If I'm Brett Favre, I'm feeling pretty good about having Alan Faneca protecting me …
August 10, 200818 yr If I'm Brett Favre, I'm feeling pretty good about having Alan Faneca protecting me … I miss that guy already.
August 10, 200818 yr I miss that guy already. Just wait 'til the regular season and Ben starts approaching Tim Couch and David Klingler sack numbers. Sheesh … :scared:
August 10, 200818 yr Just wait 'til the regular season and Ben starts approaching Tim Couch and David Klingler sack numbers. Sheesh … :scared: Hand it off to #34.
August 10, 200818 yr Hand it off to #34. He won't get many yards if he has to make his first cut five yards behind the LOS.
August 10, 200818 yr No way. In the AFC with the Jags, Pats, Colts, Steelers, Titans, Browns, no way they make the Playoffs.
August 10, 200818 yr No way. In the AFC with the Jags, Pats, Colts, Steelers, Titans, Browns, no way they make the Playoffs. Well, I feel safe in dismissing the Oilers' chances. If I'm calling it right now, I'd say it would be: Pats Chargers Jags WC Colts Broncos Toss-up in the AFC Central between the New Browns and the Steelers.
August 10, 200818 yr I don't know what to think about the Jets - I'm not even sure what to think about the Bengals, or any other team at this point. What I do know is that the Jets have had a tremendous offseason. They've added one of the best QB's in the game and one of the best offensive lineman. It may take a while, but I have a hard time leaving them out of the playoffs.
August 10, 200818 yr I'm a Favre fan, but I don't believe he could lead this current Jets Team to the playoffs in his prime.
August 10, 200818 yr While I think they have improved their team tremendously this off season, I don't see them doing better than 9-7 which will probably just miss a playoff spot in the AFC.
August 10, 200818 yr If Bret Favre has a season with the Jets as he did in Green Bay couple of seasons ago, when he threw a ton of interceptions, I don't think anybody will be thinking playoffs for the Jets. The guy is not 28, or even 32, he's 38 and has been in the league for nearly two decades. Not saying he'll be Johnny Unitas as a San Diego Charger, but it might not be real pretty.
August 10, 200818 yr No way. In the AFC with the Jags, Pats, Colts, Steelers, Titans, Browns, no way they make the Playoffs. Best point I have seen yet.:thumb:
