Not kidding at all. My medical bills are extremely high every year, and the current healthcare system works just fine with it.

I don't consider myself lucky, I pay more for my healthcare than pretty much anyone I know, and well I should as I incurr more costs. I don't see anything nice about more tax dollars being spent on another unnecessary government program. It's bankrupting countries and that's not something I want to see the US go through.

This country has the absolute best health-care system in the world. It needs a bit of overhauling I agree, but universal health care is much more problematic.

Dr's go into this profession because the $ sets it aside from most other professions. The probability of making big bucks makes it more alluring to qualified persons. Let the gov't take it over, and the better prospects will go into something else, leaving us with less qualified doctors. There is a reason so many brilliant people from abroad come here to practice medicine or lead research. That reason is the pull of the almighty dollar. Universal healthcare would ruin the system already in place that leads the world in making us healthier. In America, if you can't afford healthcare, the gov't will give you a medical card. If you don't like that, go to college and get a good job w/ health insurance. If you can't afford college, the gov't will give you grants and/or loans so you can afford it. The gov't is already using my tax dollars to help out every other person, both citizen and non-citizen, that is down on their luck. Enough is enough.
