I do not consider myself a liberal, by any means. However, I have felt, for the last 8 years, that people like me have lost our voice. It's been extremely frustrating, these last 8 years. The tide has turned to the point that even those who are in the middle are shouted down by the conservatives. It's been the people in the middle who've suffered being labled as "left" and derided for our views, even when the views we espouse could in no way be seen as hard core left. I would welcome with untold joy, an administration that is tempered, willing to work bipartisanly (is that even a word?), and try a hand at compromise, with real effort to solve the issues at hand. I think that both McCain and Obama have show flashes of that. I'm leaning really hard toward Obama, donated to his campaign, but I don't think I'll be crushed if McCain winds up winning the Presidency.

 

I don't feel like my voice has ever been heard...not under Clinton, not under Bush, and it won't be under Obama or McCain. Career politicians aren't concerned about real issues and people's opinions outside of doing and saying what's necessary to get elected. Once the election is over, they're done with the majority of Americans...Obama and McCain aren't going to be any different.

I think I recall that one. :lol: But in all honesty that was right after the DNC I believe and before the RNC met. Every party gets a boost after their National Convention but I'm with you, this point spread is too far out there to be credible. :thumb:

While that will likely be true with a small portion of KY voters, I feel there are many policy issues that will lead to McCain winning KY. JMO.

I work with many people from your little town and it's true, many are as you describe. I get a good deal of pleasure calling them out on it. However, to say that every town, every corner contains a racist is absurb and indicates to me that while you may not be racist, you are definitely prejudicial.
