I'm nothing if I'm not consistent.

Right.

I 100% believe that Obama is a socialist.

I could use Marxist if you prefer.

BUT I would a whole lot rather have a moderate pretending to be a conservative as president then a Bolshevik pretending to be moderate.

We know so little about him he could be an anarchist for all anyone knows.

It's a good thing this poll only had two options or you might have been confused.

For those who said "yes," what term do you use to describe Hugo Chavez? Would you also consider George Bush a socialist? Bill Clinton? Franklin Roosevelt? Would you consider the United States a socialist state? Are liberal and socialist synonymous? Are all Democrats socialists? An accompanying explanation would also be necessary.

I already know what most of those who said "yes" will say to most of those questions.

I can take a little humor at my expense, but you do recognize that all I was doing with all those titles was trying to get under the skin of supporers of the socialist Obama that absolutely bristle whenever anyone has the audacity to say anything that may be construed as negative about their messiah and saviour. It sure seems to have worked and I can assure you that I will continue to refer to the socialist Obama as such.

It has been explained ad nauseum why those of us that consider Obama a socialist do so. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why it's not accurate.

Hugo Chavez is a socialist dictator

Bush is a misguided semi-conservative.

Clinton has definite socialistic leanings.

Roosevelt I don't know enough about to answer. How much of his New Deal was based on raising taxes on the wealthy to fund the programs?

No the US is not a socialist state but there are some in it's government (Maxine Waters, Obama, Keith Ellison, the socialist from Vermont whose name escapes me etal) that would like nothing better then to see it become one. Waters has said as much.

I have explained more then once why I believe Obama is a socialist. Look those explainations up.

How about you explain why he's not a socialist.

He wants to nationalize health care, he wants more government oversite of business, he wants more government funded entitlement programs, he wants to take more from those he considers wealthy to give to those he considers poor. If that's not socialistic then what is?

BTW my registration say Democrat but I'm not a socialist so I guess the answer to that question would be no.

Finally IF all liberals are in favor of nationalizing industries, increasing the tax burden on wealthy people to "benefit" poor and in favor of more government control on our lives THEN yes I would say that all liberals are socialists.

The two bolded paragraphs answers the question nicely. Obama has socialistic political philosophies.

Hugo Chavez - Socialist/Communist

Franklin Roosevelt - Socialist (Thought Uncle Joe was the greatest)

George Bush - Idiot

Bill Clinton - Womanizer

United States - Capitalist nation. I don't consider using tax revenues for the good of all (roads, military, etc) a socialist method. It's just a practical one. Welfare, Medicare and public education could be considered such, but that doesn't make us socialist.

Being liberal or Democrat doesn't make you socialist. A socialist wants to take tasks from the private industry and put it in the government's hands. Chavez's nationalization of the Venezuelan oil companies is a perfect example.
