If Elliot doesn't win the 16th, that will be very shocking considering they return everyone from last years region title team.

Hazard should be a definite favorite to win the 14th next season. they have alot of returning fire power in Whitaker and Campbell. However KCC will give them a run for their money.

Scott County does have a great deal of talent, but the 11th region is brutal. I could see Scott County, Dunbar, Franklin County, LexCath, or Tates Creek all having a shot to win it.

I look fro Breathitt to improve alot this year. Not sure that they will be challegeing Hazard for the region title but things get crazy in the region. Maybe last year will be a experience that the player dont want to go threw agian.

 

They should improve--you would think that a school with 180 freshmen--should be able to dress a basketball team that would at least have wins over teams other than Cornerstone Christian Academy. They really have no where to go but UP! IMO

Not so fast. Scott County still has Phares and Guynn and a host of talented freshmen. I think(regardless of who actually gets to play at Scott County) the 11th will come down to Franklin County, Scott County, Dunbar or LexCath.

Also you better not overlook Perry Central they went to the championship game last yr. and they have their players back including the Salyers kid that transfer in from Breathitt Co. I know Coach Hatcher is very high on him and he could move into that other starter that they lost last yr.

 

I saw Perry play a couple times this summer and the Salyers Kid played on the JV team. Doesn't look like he will be moving into the starting line-up very soon

Don't get me wrong SC will still be a tough team this year with Manning, Phares and Guyn, but I think it will be tougher for them to get out of the region now without any of the transfers. Any 4 of those teams mentioned could indeed win the region now.

That Macon kid will surprise some in the 5th region. He is a true baller for sure and he done a number on Bardstown last year.

Is everyone returning to Elliot next year ? I know that towards the end of last year the Knipp brothers were close to leaving the team. I believe the older Knipp graduated but the younger one would be a huge asset to Elliot Co.

I assume they both intend to fight the KHSAA on their decision to not allow them to play for Scott Co. If the ruling once again doesn't go in their favor, where do those two end up ? Lexington Catholic ?

Elliott County will be strong and should win the 16th . East Carter will also be strong next year, another team to watch out for.

Maynard was the senior I was thinking about.
