Talking with Coach Hatcher and he said that they went to Lex. Cath. this past weekend and played 7 games in 2 days and went 5 and 2 including a big win over Lex. Cath. and also over Lex. Christian, they got beat out in the championship game against Lin. Co. must have played good ball. Congrats to Coach Hatcher and his team.

What about the Stepp kid? Where will he be playing?

 

I think the rest of the kids will be back this yr. I know PCC has JBS on their sch. for next yr.

You know I really like Bardstown too as they return some solid juniors from last year but what will really hurt them is losing Hall and Edelen. They have nobody down low to match up with Ballou and Fudge is probably going to be one of top 2 or 3 PG's in the 5th.

 

Besides Bardstown and Adair County you have to throw Taylor County with big, strong 6'6" Leonard Macon and shooting guard Chase Cox into the equation. They only lost by 5 or 6 points in the regional to Bardstown. Leonard wants to play wide out in college football and looks like he could also be an NFL Tight End. He is an impressive athlete and the best two sport athlete in the state of Kentucky.

I just don't think Taylor Co has the depth to knock off one of those two. No doubt they have some talent but lack of depth will hurt them in the long run.

Corbin is the easy favorite in the 13th this season. Returns almost everyone. Clay then South Laurel.

 

I agree 110%. Losing Bortnem is HUGE. He could do everything that the Cardinals needed. They don't have anyone experienced or ready to take on that role right now. St. John is a very solid big man. But at every other position, Corbin has the edge IMHO. Corbin should be the unanimous favorite in the 13th with everyone back.

#23 was Alex Matthews. They also lose Sanford, Minnis and a couple that escape me right now, but if I remember correctly, they subbed out quite a lot with the kids coming back.

In looking at their non-senior scorers at the state tournament, here is how they stacked up.

 

Lincoln County - 31 of 70 points - Tomlinson led with 12, Beach added 11

 

Hazard - 24 of 53 points - Tomlinson led all scorers with 12, Beach added 10

 

Mason County - 27 of 50 points - Tomlinson with 8, Beckley Jr. with 7

 

4 non-seniors saw an average of 19 minutes on the floor. That's not bad.

I look fro Breathitt to improve alot this year. Not sure that they will be challegeing Hazard for the region title but things get crazy in the region. Maybe last year will be a experience that the player dont want to go threw agian.

As far as I know with JBS, they will be closing in two years. If they still have the athletics this year then Cox and the others that transfered will not be able to play at the schools they went to.

Not bad at all. I think if Shelby can find an underclassman to step up and play big for them, we just might see them back at Rupp. Anderson co will be tough with Penny though. Just not sure he along can lead them to the region title.
