June 7, 200818 yr I dont know the first thing about horse racing and i'll be the first to admit that. But I think the Triple Crown is the hardest thing in sports. Horses are not supposed to run 3 races in 5 weeks. There are more great horses today than there were back in the 70's. Just like there are more top level athletes that makes things more competitive. We don't have the luxury of interviewing Big Brown to see if the horse was just not feeling it today. Things happen, but Big Brown is still a great horse. Not a valid point for this year, though.

Do you know which horse hold the Belmont and world record in the 1.5 mile? Hint: he ran in the 70's, one of the great eras in horse racing
June 7, 200818 yr Not a valid point for this year, though. I wasn't aware of that, as I'm not a big horse follower. Wasn't trying to use it as an excuse, just a simple statement.
June 7, 200818 yr Do you know which horse hold the Belmont and world record in the 1.5 mile? Hint: he ran in the 70's, one of the great eras in horse racing No, I have no idea. Maybe my statement about horses being better today is wrong, I really don't know. But I would assume they are simply from evolution purposes and advances in technology. Just like professional athletes.
June 7, 200818 yr Not you. TV and whoever on here said internal bleeding. That was me, and that is what it looked like to me. I'm not part of the Big Brown connections. Why the heck would I make excuses for him?
June 7, 200818 yr What's a link? Lengths, My bad. Let's just say he owned that horse at the Florida Derby. Edited June 7, 200818 yr by bigblueinsanity
June 7, 200818 yr No, I have no idea. Maybe my statement about horses being better today is wrong, I really don't know. But I would assume they are simply from evolution purposes and advances in technology. Just like professional athletes. Bad breeding practices over the past few decades have bred stamina out of horses in favor of speed. That's why we haven't had a TC winner in 30 years.
