I would not be in favor this, as I use my cell phone in lieu of a home phone. I know quite a few people who do the same now that it has become such a practicable alternative to a home phone.

 

My mom removed our home phone now and simply uses her cell phone. Once I finally get my own place, I will probably do the same.

Also, I hate it when people text while you are standing in a long line but the people in front of you have moved up about 20 feet but yet they guy that is right beside of you is texting his life away & not moving up at all. (To the dude at Kings Island yesterday! :mad: )

I have seen people text during movies, school plays, award ceremonies, and graduations and I recently saw a guy text during a funeral. Not just a few times but alot. Is it just me or is this incredibly rude? What about people who text while they are talking to you? Maybe I am just old and should get with it but this drives me crazy.

I am guilty of all other things mentioned BUT only texted when it was needed. I have a job that my phone, e-mail, texting is very important.

I love to text - as BF can attest to:lol: It's a quick way to tell someone something. I would never text during a funeral.

 

I was walking through Wal-mart one day and there was this woman walking toward me, looking at me and saying something. When I asked her what she said she got so mad at me. "I am talking on my phone to my husband, I am most certainly not talking to you". Well needless to say, I most certainly did not let her get by with talking to me like that.:madman::thumb:

 

We were in church one sunday and our priest was getting ready to say the closing prayer. All was quite and then a cell phone went off. Father Paul said, "That had better be God".

 

I think that cell phones are wonderful and texting is great but we need to understand when and where to use them without being rude.

I text on occasion, but I get so sick of the teenie boppers at the mall, walking around just waiting for their next text.

I understand what you are saying about text, but when I text, which is often, I do it usually to multitask. I can text and type, text and read, text and run, text and watch tv, etc. Or sometimes I use text to have conversations that last over a period of time, instead of making multiple calls or one long call, I prefer simply texting twice in maybe an couple hour period. It has also helped in particularly large crowds with loud enviroments (concerts, sporting events, festivals, etc.)
