Just finished The Shock Doctrine, by Namoi Klein, which was great.

Now I'm reading The Age of American Unreason, by Susan Jacoby - it's pretty interesting, so far.

Currently reading Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich. If you saw the recent movie 21, this book was the basis for that movie. It's a true story about a bunch of MIT college students using their smarts to beat the house an make large profits of money by studying blackjack basic strategy, counting cards, and working together.

I saw that movie and thought it was pretty interesting at least, I probably would enjoy this book.

I have been reading the The Diary of Col. Calvin G. Jackson, M.D. It was the diary of a doctor who served during WWII, mostly down in the Phillipines. Dry, but interesting to say the least. He lived in the same town as my grandparents.

I'm now starting to read "The GM" by Tom callahan

Cryptonomicon, by Neal Stephenson. Hope to start on The Baroque Cycle books by the same author after finishing this one. A fascinating book; sometimes a little over my head with the technical stuff, but well worthwhile.

Cryptonomicon

Finally finished with that one (1180 pages, sheesh), and just started Quicksilver, which in some respects is a prequel to Cryptonomicon, and is the first of The Baroque Cycle books. Also just finished reading Red Smith on Baseball.

I love "The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants". I am about to start on the third one.

This book looks interesting. It's next on my list to buy.

Currently (re) reading Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer's "When Worlds Collide". Just recently finished Harry Harrison's 'Eden' series and, yes,Professor,I'm still plodding through Bugliosi's MONSTER account of the Kennedy assasination.
