Were the receivers there last year?

Why weren't they used more if they are better than what was being used (One Year Starters)?

SL should be better this year, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered.

Wes King was a 1 year starter and so was Bubba Bailey.

He will sit out. Too much was made of his needing to transfer for athletic purposes.

 

How can these folks feel this pressure when Scott County picks up two transfers from Rose Hill? Father needs a job and could chose to live anywhere? The need for the other transfer was never explained.

Actually, South Laurel fighting/not fighting won't factor in. The KHSAA will rule regardless if South Laurel decides not to fight it. It will all depend on legitimate change of address, custodial change, and the "unknown" factor.

 

There have been a few rulings lately that have really made me scratch my head.... I hope the kid gets to play right away.

Sorry RP, that's not correct if I understand the point you were trying to make. The KHSAA is not in any way bound by what SL thinks. If the transfer does not fit within by law 6 than the kid is ineligible regardless of what SL thinks, unless the KHSAA itself determines that an exception contained in the rule is satisfied.

I don't think that applies anymore. Schools can show up to dispute it. But KHSAA checks out (if you will) all transfers today. Whether the former school disputes it or not.

I don't think he will have to sit out a year, his dad lives in knox county while his mom lived in laurel and he is just going to move in with his dad. As long as their was a legitimate change of address he will not have to sit a year, no matter what the reason for moving is.

We have seen this happen on the Basketball side ( Euton/Scott Co.). I think if a kid moves with his family then they have to let the kid play. If I am wrong someone please tell me why and the correct rule.

That's great, is Central deep in the backfield or will Chad be the go to guy? I think even if they have some good backs he can help them out on defence.

KC returns their leading rusher (Dexter Carnes) from last season but one can never have too many good running backs. Injuries are all too common.
