May 31, 200818 yr I was told on here that the W-L record is not a good barometer for judging a starting pitcher. You know, you learn something everyday It isn't a great stat, but for a guy to get 10 wins almost every year it says he's not that good, but isn't that bad either. If the defending NL champs offered him $5M for this year I can live w/ him as my 5th starter for $1M.
May 31, 200818 yr Arroyo's stats are better. His ERA is more than half a run a game better, and Arroyo spent more years in the American League where they use the DH. Your point about the salary is even more of a reason that the Reds would give Arroyo more leeway in the rotation than they would Fogg. I was fine w/ them leaving Arroyo in. Fogg should have been too. If it was b/c Homer was on fire and they wanted to go w/ him I would have been better w/ it. I'm not ok w/ it being Belisle. Fogg would have been better off making his starts and he would be better than he was today. It's really hard to take a month off and be good. Especially when you're not that good anyway.
May 31, 200818 yr Latch? Fogg in a heart beat. Affeldt isn't a starter. I'm not saying Fogg is that good. I'm saying he's their best option for a 5th starter.

May 31, 200818 yr Bring back Lohse... 5-2 with a 4.02 ERA. Yeah I'd take that for the 5th starter:thumb:
May 31, 200818 yr Why did the Reds' brass not like Loshe enough to keep him? Does anyone know what he's being paid?
May 31, 200818 yr Why did the Reds' brass not like Loshe enough to keep him? Does anyone know what he's being paid? He was the poster boy for inconsistency. I think he's making some pretty good coin, not sure on the exact number.
